I'm so glad I bought this! At first it was really uncomfortable to wear, but with time it got better (and I think I put it in better). I've have no problems with leaking; there's so much suction that removal can be the tricky bit-- but I think that's true of any cup.

This product is amazing. I have very heavy periods, as in I can't use tampons or disposable pads because unless I want to visit the bathroom every 1/2-1 hour normal daily life activities really aren't possible. I have been using menstrual cups for 5 months now hoping they would help my situation and decrease my imprint upon the earth. I have used Saalt Sensitive large cup and Organicup small. The Saalt Sensitive I struggled with forever, always leaking, never staying sealed, slipping during use, and when I was working out my pelvic muscles would literally collapse the entire thing. Organicup small worked well, but was exactly that...small. I was having to empty the cup at minimum every 2 hours which was annoying. So I tried Venus. All problems solved! Soft enough to be gentle on my very sensitive anatomy, firm enough to get a seal every single time without having to fidget with it forever! The 'small' venus holds way more than all other 'smalls' in other brands but a good option for not so heavy days and when cervix is a little lower. The 'large' has a great capacity and surprisingly not that "intimidating" of a size; it is comparable to my Saalt large cup in size but holds way more! It is a little long, so I don't wear it all through cycle, only on my very heavy days when my cervix is higher. If cervix is lower, it does contact it a bit and not so comfortable. But it has made my life manageable again. No more trying to figure out how I can use the bathroom every 2 hours; I can wear it for 4 hours at least on my very heaviest days. I did have to trim the stem in both cups, but I do that for all cups. I have never felt the stem and the base is awesome, good firmness with a tread that is very easy to grab a hold of. With some menstrual panties as back up for just in case, these products have given me back freedom to live my life. GREAT OPTION for heavy menstrual flow. And the two sizes are awesome to have to use on different days of my cycle. I have finally found my Goldilocks cup and so thankful to Venus for making such a great product that is reasonably priced and made in the USA. GOOD JOB VENUS!

I bought a cup because I was worried about the clearing shelves of hygiene products due to covid19. On particularly bad cycles I can soak through a super plus tampon in an hour. I didn't want to have to live pantsless in my bathtub due to my biblical like flow, if I couldn't get my hands on anything.Because of my heavy flow I went with the larger size and capacity. I'm 31 and have never had children. The learning curve was difficult, I tried a "dry" run a few times and was incredibly unsuccessful. I failed several times on the first day of my cycle, I just could not get the thing to open! I tried several folds, I tried squeezing a finger in there but there just wasn't room for both my finger and the cup . I gave up for a bit read some suggestions on blogs and decided to make the air holes a smidgen wider and inserted it with the fold facing down (I used punch down fold) instead of facing up. With those two tweaks I FINALLY managed to get it to pop open half way through the second day of my cycle, at the end of the night I emptied the cup and was rather sore from all my failed attempts so I slept with a tampon instead. I'm now on my fourth day of my cycle and it's use is already becoming second nature. I'm officially converted, this is going to be a game changer when I can go back to work. I work outside and we only have a Porta potty, so you had to stash your used products in your purse until you could properly dispose of them. This cycle doesn't appear like it's going to be a particularly bad one, I've been emptying it every 2-6 hours just out of precaution and the cup has never actually been full. I'll be curious to see how it performs on a bad one.

    Hello Autumn,

Although you purchased the Venus Cup out of necessity in these troubling times, we're still grateful for the chance to serve you. Thank you for sharing your detailed and positive experience with the starter kit. We're happy to hear that you were able to get through the learning curve fairly quickly and was able to use the Venus Cup comfortably.
Although it sounds like you were able to find information online, we're always here to support you should you need it. Just contact us directly and one of the Venus Cup Team Members will offer one on one help.
Here are a couple of additional tips if you ever run into issues getting the rim to open, again.
    - Position one of the air holes in the fold. This will allow air to rush in and fill and help open the cup.
    - Insert the cup halfway before letting it expand and then use a finger to push it up into place.
The user manual was created to make it easy for new users to get started. It is very detailed and includes some tips and visuals. Again, if you can't find the information that you're looking for in the manual, don't hesitate to contact us directly.

So I used a cup years ago. With all the uncertainties in the world and a low stock of tampons. I thought I would give it another go. I like the idea of not using Tampons. I bought the starter pack. On my 1st day I used the smaller size and it worked good for the 1st and second time. As my flow got heavier I had to switch to the larger cup and thank goodness I did because I fill it fast. Ot has taken some adjustments to getting it in correctly as well as the sensation of it filling. I have had some leaking but, I am still learning. The leaking is no worse than bleeding through a tampon and is manageable with my normal backup. I have also ordered period panties to always have a back up as I do have a very heavy flow. I have lots of hopes for this product as I practice and master it. So far my best fold is the c fold.

Thank you for sharing your detail experience with the Venus Cup starter kit. I'm happy to hear that both sizes have been a good fit for you. Check out the user manual for troubleshooting common leaking issues, but I'll include a tip of one of the most common here.
After inserting the Venus Cup, use a damp cloth to remove excess blood from the stem and grip rings. Excess blood is often mistaken for the cup leaking.
Otherwise, using a period panty is a great option until you're confident using your cup without it.

I was very surprised by this cup, it was my first one and I bought the starter pack with both sizes because I wasn’t sure what would fit. Before I was having menstrual discs but I would still experience leakage. I’ve used this Venus cup for two cycles so far and I have had the cleanest period ever. The learning curve wasn’t so bad and the instruction book that comes with the kit is very detailed and thorough for beginners which help me with insertion. I’ve worked out with the cup doing kickboxing and running and had times where I pulled the cup out nearly half full and still no leakage. The grip on the bottom of the cup helps to pull out the suction and then of course the stem for tugging it out just a bit. Even sometimes when doing nature’s business, the cup tends to push out a bit, but it never loses suction and naturally places itself where it needs to be somehow, otherwise you can pinch the grip above the stem and slip it just a bit.Overall I love this cup and besides the horrible cramps I get, this has made my period so stress free without worrying about leaking even for my heavier days with the larger cup. For those of you complaining about the size of the bigger cup. It doesn’t hurt, it’s a silicone cup and it’s soft so you will hardly feel anything but a little pressure while you’re learning to put it in properly. Just follow the instructions they provide. It’s really helpful, but I Definitely recommend!!

Yes there is definitely a learning curve with insertion and removal, but once you get the hang of it there's no turning back! I love that this set comes with a regular size and a large-capacity size for the same price that other companies charge for one. Very few companies offer larger capacity cups for heavier flows, but I was also afraid to purchase a large one without having tried any first. So it's great that you can start off with the smaller one and then move on to the bigger one for the days you need it. I even recommended it to my sister and cousin who also have heavy periods. I now use the cup with period underwear. I will never use tampons or pads again!

I have been using cups for a couple of years now. I love this cup!! I ordered the package that had both size cups. I used the large size one. I bleed very heavily. With the other cups, even at a heavy flow capacity, I was still emptying about every 3 hours. With this cup, I could go 8 hours without having to empty it. I could go all night without having to get up and empty in the middle of the night. This will definitely be my new go to cup.

For a newbie, it was a wonderful experience using it. I did have to cut a bit off the tip of it but that doesn't affect the function of it. It was well worth the money and would purchase it again. I did check out a few videos before purchasing one just to get an idea of what I would want to look for. It is nice not having to deal with pads or tampons anymore. I just wear my period panties with my cup and all is right with the world. I sometimes forget I am on my period. I just wish that this was available when I was in school. Would have made my life easier.

I’m a grandmother who bought this kit for my teenage granddaughter. She was always having issues at school with spillover using tampons. She’s only been using tampons for about 6 months. Her parents were concerned about TSS. I sent her the videos and reading material. These cups are better because of the Tiny holes at the top, just pinch, release suction, and pull. These is a learning curve, she practiced over a weekend. But she loves, loves, loves the Venus cup. She has all day protection at school. I bought s silicone folding camping cup to sterilize in, and that she can put a bit of water in to rinse before stepping into the washroom at school if needed. She says she will never go back to tampons. The first day can prove a little difficult to insert, so I got a water solvable lube she puts just around the rim. It slides right in. I sure wish these had been around when I needed them! Great product.

This cup is a game changer. I work pretty long days and one of the things I hate doing is emptying my cup at work. This cup has the biggest capacity I've ever seen, and it can last me a full 12 hours, even on my heavy days. Because of its capacity, I rarely have to empty my cup at work now. I've also noticed that I leak less with this cup. Although I still have some leakage, I don't experience gushing leaks like I do with other cups. I like how it came with 2 sizes, I like to use the small one for the last 1 or 2 days of my period.

    Tip for leaking:
Sometimes, excess blood (on the outside of the cup) causes an individual to believe they are leaking. Try wiping the grip rings and stem with a wet cloth to clear some of the excess blood.

I have a very heavy flow because of my copper IUD as well as a high cervix. I've tried the Lunette cup, Super Jennie cup, and Ruby cup. All of them had pros and cons, but none of them fit the bill between major leaking issues / trouble removing them because of stem construction / uncomfortable chafing. Tried the Venus and I think I finally found the cup for me!No leaks, capacity gets me through the full day on my heaviest day, and I can use the smaller cup for the beginning / end of my period which is light. I find the bell shape to be much more comfortable and haven't experienced irritation. It's not as rigid as my other cups so it doesn't really "pop" open upon insertion like I'm used to, but it achieves a good seal anyway. The only thing I wish was that the ridges on the stem went in the opposite direction, because I feel like that would provide a better grip to pull down. But all-in-all, this is a great cup.

I own a small stockpile of cups now. I own a generic that was the first one I tried. Since getting that one a couple of years ago, I went on a quest to get the most capacity I could find. I bought the Super Jennie in small and large. They’re both good cups, too. I bought the Merula xl. That’s supposedly a fifty ml cup, but without suction holes it gives no warning when it’s full before letting loose. That was disappointing, because it’s comfortable, and the ladder stem was great. I bought the Luv Ur Body large. That was my most used cup before buying the Venus. The company itself had the rudest and nastiest customer service I’ve ever experienced in any company. But until recently, their cup was the only one I could get to work for me on heavy days. I believe that cup has a 47 ml capacity (to the rim). I also own a Lumma unique large disk. That one claims a 60 ml capacity. In reality, I couldn’t even get 30 out of it. I would not recommend it at all for substantial flow. Now, finally: the Venus. The silicone feels quality, unlike the LUB. The stem feels more substantial than the SJ. The holes are better formed than LUB. It’s very comfortable to wear. The markings go higher than the other cups (and the Merula and Lumma unique are missing both markings and holes). On heavy days, I get an hour typically between emptying. A little longer with the LUB, although when my cervix was low, it wasn’t comfortable. With the Venus large, I often get two or three hours. Any normal woman could get the full twelve hours. And it’s really comfortable (at least for me).Almost every cup I’ve tried is still 100% better than ultra tampons. But I’m not looking at more cups to buy for the first time in two years, since finding this one. Their two pack is a fabulous deal, too.Bravo.

The first month with the cup was not fun. It was difficult and uncertain and quite frankly, a bit icky. After a leaking problem the second month, I decided to try the larger cup which I overlooked due to intimidation the first go around and it solved all my problems. It was easier to use, I could feel when it was in place, and while I haven't figured out how to make it work in public, it lasts long enough I don't have to worry about that! I've used this for about 8 months now and do not anticipate ever going back to tampons! Not to mention I love the long term financial gain and keeping a little more out of the landfills

    Hello Harper,

Thank you for taking a moment to share your experience thus far. We're happy to hear that you were able to get the Venus Cup inserted easily. I hope that you'll be able to work out (no pun intended) the removal process.

Here's a tip that might help:
-It might be easier for new users to remove the cup while in a tub or shower. Squat and use your muscles to push down like you're having a bowel movement. You may need to push a few times to get the cup to move lower. Use your pointer and thumb to reach the stem and wiggle the cup back and forth until you can pinch the base and remove it the rest of the way out.
We hope that you have success with the Venus Cup. Please don't hesitate to contact us directly should you need support.

    Cheers!

I LOVE IT! Ok, I'll go into a little detail because this should be women reading this and we've all been there. I have had an IUD in the past so I'm not a stranger to checking on the string inside my vaginal so figuring out if the cup was in the right place wasn't difficult for me. Still a little bit of a process but not hard. I watched youtube videos about different cups and read plenty of reviews before inserting mine. It is the best thing I have ever bought to care for my period! I transitioned to organic disposable products and this was the obvious next choice for me. I love that when you are at the very end and there is hardly anything left but still enough to want to wear a tampon pulling this out doesn't feel like the dry scrubbing tampon you pull out with practically nothing on it. A cycle is just what our bodies do so washing it out 2 or 3 times a day isn't a big deal to me. It takes a small adjustment to see what's actually being discharged but I quickly have moved past it. I will never have a reason to go pack to disposable products. Also, I turned the small one inside out so the stem is inside and it is perfect for me.

I purchased this cup last month after my cycle. I started using it this month. It is HORRIBLE! It would NOT open up completely. I have been using menstrual cups for over a year now. I have the Lena cup & a couple of knock off cups (Luna cup & Dutchess cup). Those “knock off” cups were better than the Venus cup! This cup had me feel the need to urinate every second even after I voided. I requested a refund & returned the product (which will be destroyed). Good luck, ladies! I would NOT recommend this cup at all! I will stick with my Lena cup.

I got the large and the small. The small size I don’t really care for but the large size is great. The only down side is that the cup is not so easy to insert at first but once you get the hung of it, it’s amazing. The capacity is great and super comfortable.Except for day 1 nights when I have a super heavy flow, it never spills over. I can go for more than 7 hours without even checking on my heavier days and 12 hours on less heavy days. All in all, great product!

This is the best menstrual cup on the market. I adore how caring the company is and how much true research they've invested into this truly perfect product. I actually don't dread my period anymore because the Venus Cup is so comfortable. I love the little instruction book it come with (so many tips on different was of insertion so you can experiment and find which way works best for you!). The packaging and cup are honestly really beautiful (the lotus imprint grip on the bottom of the cup, what a sweet little detail and it works so well!) and extremely well made. The cup is a pretty purple color, very high quality material and completely stain resist which I really appreciate. The cloth bag it comes in is natural fiber and very study for storage. The cup itself is perfectly balanced between firmness and softness, it opens perfectly after insertion, it sits perfectly, stays put, not a single leak and I can't feel it at all. I bought the kit of the small and large size two pack; so far the small is perfect for me, but I love that I have a backup for really heavy days just in case. I've thrown all my other cup brands out. Venus Cup is perfect! One of the best purchases I have ever made. :)

I love it! This is my second cycle using a menstrual cup. For reference, I’m 27, had 2 kids by c section, and I have a heavy flow that usually lasts 3 days and requires use of thick pads, super-only tampons, and period panties at the same time. The cup advertisements always say that periods don’t product much volume, but lies! In hindsight after using a cup, I realize now that I seem to have quite a heavy flow. I always wondered why my friend only owns teeny tampons and panty liners... anyways!I purchased a duchess pair of cups because they were cheap, admittedly. I liked the silicone, it agrees with my pH and balance MUCH more than pads and tampons. However, with the 15mL capacity of those, I had to empty them out every 2-4 hours. I could not sleep the night without leaking.I paid the price for the Venus because I saw that the large carried 30mL. The body is more firm, so the popping open is much easier. My cervix is relatively high, so the longer body of the cup fits much nicer, I notice less leakage. I’m still working on the placement and I feel it’ll be leak free. The handle is much easier to grab. I can actually only need to empty it every 6-8 hours! The times I’ve emptied, it was about 25mL. The quality of the silicone is nicer. It feels silky smooth compared to the duchess. Since using them both for the exact same amount of time, the venus has a nicer material that doesn’t get splotchy. It stays silky looking.” I like the bell shape because it has more side surface area and seems to protect against leaks.

    Hello!

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience and positive review. We're very happy to hear that the Venus Cup was easy to use, comfortable, and held up to your heavy flow. You'll be amazed to hear, but the large Venus Cup holds 47 ml to the rim. It's the second to the highest capacity on the market without adding and extreme length or diameter. We're pretty proud of that :)

Also, thank you for the comparison to a well know cup such as the Dutchess. It's nice to know that our quality and design are noticed.

We have some great tips, tricks, and troubleshooting for leaking in the user manual. They might help you achieve a leak-free period. If you need further support, please contact us directly. The Venus Cup Team will do their best to troubleshoot with you.

Until then, we wish happy periods!

I did substantial research before deciding to purchase this cup. I'm not new to using a cup. I have a very heavy flow so I was super excited to find a cup with such a large capacity. The small cup was comfortable right after insertion; even without trimming the stem. It was like not having anything, but it did slide down a bit after wearing it for a little while. No matter how many times I reinserted it. When my flow got heavier, I switched to the larger size. Getting it in was fine, but after standing up and walking around a bit...it was just so uncomfortable and painful. I tried reinserting it in different positions hoping not would help, but it just made it worse to the point where it was unbearable and I HAD to remove it. It also made my cramps a little worse. It's a quality product, for sure. Maybe this one just isn't meant for my body type. I don't think the 'bell' shape works for me. I'm not disappointed in the product at all. Just kinda bummed it didn't work out. If I could just wear the small one, that would be great. But unfortunately, I'd be in the restroom every 2 hours. Lol.

My cramps kill me with every cycle. Switching to this cup has made a WORLD of difference for me. I presume it's because there isn't a cotton wad (tampon) in there drying everything out anymore. If you suffer from cramps during menstruation, I HIGHLY recommend switching to a cup like this. It's comfortable, and I only have to rinse/think about it before I go to bed, and when I wake up in the morning. It's amazing! I'm a light-medium bleeder, and I've never had kids. No leaks, and both cup sizes fit fine for me. It's also kind of nice that the cups have little measurement markers on them so you can ACTUALLY SEE just how much you're bleeding (great for tracking, Dr's, etc). 10/10, would recommend this product to anybody. Super easy to use.

We would also like to thank you for mentioning that both sizes were comfortable for you even though you haven’t had children. Far too many individuals believe that the large can’t be used unless they gave birth. It simply isn’t true and you are a good example of it.

I know this might be TMI, but here we go. The cup works great. I used the small and gave the large to my mother. I've used it for two times. It doesn't leak, and it's not messy like I thought it would be. It's extremely convenient more than tampons. If Im out I just rinse it with water and put it back in. At first I had some issues with inserting it, I'm not sure if its because i've never inserted something larger than a tampon before in my life haha. It hurt a little at first, but with more practice it goes in easily. It hurt because my skin on the outside of my vagina like this little piece of skin idk what its called but now it doesn't. So if you're a virgin or scared of it might hurting you, you don't need to worry just use the small! Once the cup is inside, I almost forget about it. It doesn't hurt me, it doesn't leak, and I've gone worked out and have gone swimming while wearing it. It's great I HIGHLY recommend it! The package it came in was completely sealed.

    - The cervix is not normally located straight up. Instead, insert the folded cup down and back towards your tailbone while in a squat on the ground. This will help put the cup in a better position under or around your cervix.
    - If the cup will not open, try wiggling it down a bit and then use a finger to push it back into place. Often when a cup is inserted completely, the cervix is in the way of letting the rim expand. Wiggling it down will let the cervix correct itself.
    - You can also insert the cup half way, let it expand (below the cervix) and then use a finger to push it up into place.
    - After the cup is in position, try pinching the base a few times to force air out and create a seal.
    - Give the stem (or base of the cup) a gentle tug to make sure that there is a slight resistance. If the cup slides easily, either the rim is not open completely or it did not create a good seal. You will need to readjust by inserting your finger and swiping the cup to the side or pinching the base a few more times.

The large Venus Cup holds 38 ml to the air holes and 47 ml to the rim which is approximately 30% more than the average large-sized menstrual cup on the market. Depending on how low your cervix rests inside of the cup will determine how much capacity is available. This is the same with any menstrual cup on the market and will vary from one person to the next. Although this is normally sufficient to hold a cup user for at least 8 hours during a heavy flow, there are some users who need to empty their cups sooner.
The key to emptying a menstrual cup away from home is to be prepared.
    - Empty the cup before you leave the house so that you start with full capacity.
    - Empty the cup at a set time before it is full to minimize spillovers and reduce mess.
    - If you do not have access to a private toilet with a sink, pack a few wet wipes or a wet cloth in a pocket or bag to clean yourself and hands. You can also dampen a couple of paper towels (do not flush them) if the facility provides them, before entering a toilet stall.

I hope that these tips help. If you still find that your cup overflows during your daily outings, cloth pads or period underwear may be a good option for backup.

We’re sorry that you’re experiencing a delay in the cup expanding. You may want to help it expand so that you’re not wondering or worrying that it will leak. Hopefully the following tips will help.

I don't want to create excess waste so I picked this after reading many reviews. I'm 26 and haven't had kids but the large one was so painful I couldn't even keep it in for more than 5 seconds each time... I don't see how anyone uses these without some type of lubricant. I've tried the small one many ways and it just won't open up all the way so it won't create a proper seal and it leaks. It also irritates because the rubbery material is thick and keeps rubbing on my skin and has left a raw "rug burn" from going in an out... I also have a hard time grabbing and pulling the wand and had it tear off... The silicone is very sturdy but just too thick for me. I'm going to have to try a different method

    Hi D Lee,
Thank you for sharing your experience while using both the small and large Venus Cup. We appreciate the feedback even though the cups didn’t work for you. We’re sorry to hear that the large wasn’t comfortable and that you had problems getting the smaller cup to open.
Here are some tips that might help:
    1. The cervix is not typically located straight up. Former tampon users will often insert a cup in the same position which may prevent the cup from opening correctly. Instead, from a squatting position, aim the folded cup back and down towards the tailbone.
    2. If the cup is inserted all the way before the fold is released, the cervix may be blocking the rim from expanding. Insert the cup half way, allow it to open, and then use a single finger to push it into place.
    3. Once the cup is in the correct position, give the stem a gentle tug. You want to feel a slight resistance which means the cup has created a seal. If it slides easily, it’s possible that the cup is not positioned correctly or that the rim has not expanded.

Once you are able to insert and position the cup, it won’t be a hard task and the rubbing will be a thing of the past. Using lubricant during the learning phase will help but won’t always be needed thereafter.

If the cup feels uncomfortable or too long, you may want to check the height of your cervix.
    https://venuscup.com/cervix/
Even though the small Venus Cup is shorter than the large, it could still be too long for a low or very low cervix.

We’re sorry to hear that you’re having issues with the Venus Cup Kit. It can take some practice to get over the learning curve and we understand how incredibly frustrating it can be. It sounds as though the large Venus Cup is too wide for your comfort. The small should feel more comfortable once you master it. Hopefully the following tips will help:

    - The cervix is not normally located straight up. Instead, insert the folded cup down and back towards your tailbone while in a squat on the ground. This will help put the cup in a better position under or around your cervix.
    - If the cup will not open, try wiggling it down a bit and then use a finger to push it back into place. Often when a cup is inserted completely, the cervix is in the way of letting the rim expand. Wiggling it down will let the cervix correct itself.

You will need to readjust by inserting your finger and swiping the cup to the side or pinching the base a few more times.

If you’ve been practicing for a while and your skin starts to get irritated, it’s time to take a break. I know you want this to work, but being frustrated and full of determination can make it worse. Our bodies will tense up without us realizing. Maybe try again during your next period with a fresh start.

If the stem is causing issues, you can trim it down until you can’t feel it but at a length that you can still reach it during removal.
To date, we have not received any complaints about the stem tearing off. It concerns us. We would be grateful if you could contact us directly with photos. We would like to share them with our manufacturer to ensure that it doesn’t happen again.
If you would like some one on one support, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We’re always here for support.

This was the 2nd menstrual cup I tried. I have a high cervix so initially I bought the Lily cup, but I didn't like the poking firm stem or the fact that it didn't have air holes making breaking the seal complicated and painful. The Venus cup changed all this. I've only used the small cup so far. Its stem is long and flexible making it easy to find and providing a good grip. Breaking the seal was easily achieved every time just by pinching the bottom of the cup. This made removing the cup fast and less stressful. I use a dab of lubricant to facilitate insertion and as soon as I pass the pelvic bone the cup always fully opens. No leaks for 12 hrs even on high flow days. Very comfortable. I can't feel it once in place. That means I can completely forget about my period for 12 hrs. Wish I had heard about menstrual cups sooner. Don't think I will try the large cup included in the set since the small one works so well for me.

I think we all wish that we learned of menstrual cups sooner! Better late than never, though, right? Nonetheless, we’re pleased to hear that the small Venus Cup worked well even with your high cervix. Hang on to the large. You may change your mind one day or need it in a pinch.
Thank you for taking a moment to share your experience. We hope that the Venus Cup continues to provide you with easy and comfortable protection.

It definitely does what it's supposed to do. I had one issue where I had the bigger cup inside of me for the heavier flow and for some reason, I don't know if it was because of how I was sitting or what, I started to leak pretty heavily over the cup even though it had been staying secure for a few hours. But as far as the product goes, I am definitely satisfied with it and will keep using it for as long as I can. Sometimes it's a little uncomfortable trying to remove it, but it's okay
    Reply from Venus Cup Team:
Thank you for sharing your experience while using the large Venus Cup. We’re pleased to hear that you’re satisfied with the performance of our cup even after the single mishap and sometimes having uncomfortable removals.
Make sure that the cup is positioned correctly by aiming the folded cup back and down towards your tailbone while inserting. After the fold is released, use a finger to feel around the cup’s body for any indentations or if the cervix has been pushed to the side. If either are present, wiggle the cup down and then push it back into place.
As for removal, most people who experience discomfort notice that it is when the cup is just about totally removed. If this is when you start feeling uncomfortable, use your thumb to press down on the side of the cup as it exits. It could possibly be the rim dragging against the urethra.
If you have any other concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly for one on one support. We would love to help you have a more pleasant experience.

This is my second cycle using these cups and I really like them! I bought the combo pack as I’m new to menstrual cups and wasn’t sure what size I’d need. I’ve been using the small more as I seem to have a lower cervix. Because of this I had to trim the stem completely off so that it wouldn’t poke me. It’s been very comfortable and while I can feel some light “pressure” while wearing it’s nothing too uncomfortable. It’s honestly the same sensation I get when using a super tampon.I do hope they come out with a version for shorter cervix, but I’ll keep using this till they do!I don’t think I will ever go back to tampons unless I get a surprise visit and have nothing else available.
    Reply from Venus Cup Team:
Thank you for sharing this great news! We’re pleased to hear that the small Venus Cup is working well even though you needed to trim the stem all the way off. Sometimes, it’s just the way it goes but at least you have that option. If the light pressure is not causing any issues with urinating or constipation and you’re comfortable wearing it, then it shouldn’t be an issue.
Please contact us directly if you come across any other concerns. We would be happy to chat with you one on one.

I have a really heavy menstrual flow the first few days of my period (my mother said she did too, guess it's a genetic thing). Tampons are pretty much useless with heavy flow, wearing an overnight pad during the day is ridiculously bulky and uncomfortable. Menstrual cups can hold a lot between changes, so I decided to give them a go.I've tried the DivaCup that I found at the local drugstore, but then I saw this Venus Cup that can hold more. The DivaCup has more of a V shape, whereas the Venus Cup is more of a U shape, which gives the Venus Cup more capacity. I thought it might feel uncomfortable with the U shape, but it's not, it sits up high enough where you don't know it's there and it's got a nice soft silicone material. It definitely suctions in place to prevent any leaks. I got the Venus Cup Starter Kit so I could try both sizes, but so far I've just used the larger size and it's worked fine. The cups come with nice canvas-type bags to store them in, and I received a booklet that has detailed instructions, FAQ and even troubleshooting tips. That's super awesome for a first-timer--honestly, after looking through the booklet, you'll pretty much be an expert on menstrual cups--it's that amazingly useful.Since I've used a menstrual cup before, I personally didn't even need the instructions-- just opened the box, rinsed off the cup, and popped it in no problem--but again, I'd used a menstrual cup before. The first time I'd ever tried using a menstrual cup was a different story! The main things I need from a menstrual cup are large holding capacity with no leaks and that the cup is comfortable. I also want the cup to last a long time so that it pays for itself with the money I don't spend on pads or tampons. This is made from high-quality silicone that can stand up to boiling, so I get the feeling it's going to last a long time (booklet says it could last 10 or more years). Also, the Venus Cup material has a purple color that stays true, unlike the clear DivaCup that starts turning yellow after one or two uses. What else can I add? Oh, the shipping was very fast, I received it 2 days after ordering (on a Saturday) even though I don't have Amazon Prime. It works for me and is comfortable, so I can highly recommend the Venus Cup if you are searching for a menstrual cup to buy.

Thank you for sharing all of these wonderful, first-time user, details!
We understand how it is with heavy periods. Tampons PLUS a pad weren’t very convenient, cost effective, or comfortable for us either. And although the DivaCup is a trustworthy brand, it just didn’t cut it for our flow. We designed the Venus Cup for individuals like you in mind.
We’re also grateful of the mention about our user manual. We worked hard to get it just right for new cup users, but wanted to have some information that avid users might learn from, too.
We hope that the large Venus Cup continues to provide you with easy and comfortable period protection. Please reach out to us if you ever have questions or concerns. We’ll be here to support you.
