Thank you for taking a moment to share your experience thus far. We're happy to hear that you were able to get the Venus Cup inserted easily. I hope that you'll be able to work out (no pun intended) the removal process.
Here's a tip that might help:
-It might be easier for new users to remove the cup while in a tub or shower. Squat and use your muscles to push down like you're having a bowel movement. You may need to push a few times to get the cup to move lower. Use your pointer and thumb to reach the stem and wiggle the cup back and forth until you can pinch the base and remove it the rest of the way out.
We hope that you have success with the Venus Cup. Please don't hesitate to contact us directly should you need support.
Cheers!

Although you were having some trouble at the start, I'm glad that you were able to work it out in the end. I hope that it continues to get easier with practice.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience and positive review. We're very happy to hear that the Venus Cup was easy to use, comfortable, and held up to your heavy flow. You'll be amazed to hear, but the large Venus Cup holds 47 ml to the rim. It's the second to the highest capacity on the market without adding and extreme length or diameter. We're pretty proud of that :)
Also, thank you for the comparison to a well know cup such as the Dutchess. It's nice to know that our quality and design are noticed.
We have some great tips, tricks, and troubleshooting for leaking in the user manual. They might help you achieve a leak-free period. If you need further support, please contact us directly. The Venus Cup Team will do their best to troubleshoot with you.
Until then, we wish happy periods!
Cheers,
The Venus Cup Team
On the other note, we're sorry that the Venus Cup didn't work with your body. Shape, size, and firmness do matter when it comes to choosing a menstrual cup that is right for you. Unfortunately, the Venus Cup just isn't yours. We're sorry about that.
Thank you for sharing your experience even though it didn't work out for you 100%. We hope that you find another reusable menstrual product that is perfect for you even if it's not the Venus Cup.
Best Wishes,
The Venus Cup Team
We're happy to hear that you were pleased with the quality of the Venus Cup. We were very diligent in finding the correct material and manufacturer to produce our product.
On the other note, we're sorry that the Venus Cup was too soft for your toned PFM. Although we tried to add back some firmness with the invisible secondary rim and an inner re-enforcing ring (large), we understand that it may still be too soft for some.
Thank you for sharing your experience even though it didn't work out for you 100%. We hope that you find another reusable menstrual product that is perfect for you even if it's not the Venus Cup.
Best Wishes,
The Venus Cup Team
We're so excited to hear that a long time menstrual cup user is pleased with the Venus Cup. Thank you for sharing that both sizes are comfortable enough for you to forego using tampons.
We hope that the Venus Cup will continue to be your worry-free go to period product.
Please don't hesitate to contact us directly should you need any support in the future.
Cheers!
The Venus Cup Team
It means a lot to us to be compared to the well-known and reputable, EvaCup.
We hope that the Venus Cup continues to be your #1 menstrual management product.
Thank you, again!

Thank you for taking the time to leave us an outstanding review. We're happy to hear that the user manual was easy to follow and that you found the Venus Cup to be comfortable and easy to use.
We hope that the Venus Cup will continue to provide years of worry-free periods!
Cheers!
We would also like to thank you for mentioning that both sizes were comfortable for you even though you haven’t had children. Far too many individuals believe that the large can’t be used unless they gave birth. It simply isn’t true and you are a good example of it.
We appreciate you for sharing your experience. Please reach out to us directly should you ever have any questions. We’re always here to support you.
Best wishes,
The Venus Cup Team
We appreciate that you mentioned using the Venus Cup with no prior insertion experience other than a tampon. You’re a great example of how a new cup user can have success. We couldn’t be more grateful that you took a chance on our alternative option.
Best wishes to you and your mother on many years of comfortable period protection.
The Venus Cup Team
We also appreciate the mention of our user manual. We worked very hard on getting it just right for new and avid users. Please feel free to contact us directly if you ever feel you need support. We’re happy to help.

Here are a few tips that may help ensure that the cup is fully expanded:
- The cervix is not normally located straight up. Instead, insert the folded cup down and back towards your tailbone while in a squat on the ground. This will help put the cup in a better position under or around your cervix.
- If the cup will not open, try wiggling it down a bit and then use a finger to push it back into place. Often when a cup is inserted completely, the cervix is in the way of letting the rim expand. Wiggling it down will let the cervix correct itself.
- You can also insert the cup half way, let it expand (below the cervix) and then use a finger to push it up into place.
- After the cup is in position, try pinching the base a few times to force air out and create a seal.
- Give the stem (or base of the cup) a gentle tug to make sure that there is a slight resistance. If the cup slides easily, either the rim is not open completely or it did not create a good seal. You will need to readjust by inserting your finger and swiping the cup to the side or pinching the base a few more times.
The large Venus Cup holds 38 ml to the air holes and 47 ml to the rim which is approximately 30% more than the average large-sized menstrual cup on the market. Depending on how low your cervix rests inside of the cup will determine how much capacity is available. This is the same with any menstrual cup on the market and will vary from one person to the next. Although this is normally sufficient to hold a cup user for at least 8 hours during a heavy flow, there are some users who need to empty their cups sooner.
The key to emptying a menstrual cup away from home is to be prepared.
- Empty the cup before you leave the house so that you start with full capacity.
- Empty the cup at a set time before it is full to minimize spillovers and reduce mess.
- If you do not have access to a private toilet with a sink, pack a few wet wipes or a wet cloth in a pocket or bag to clean yourself and hands. You can also dampen a couple of paper towels (do not flush them) if the facility provides them, before entering a toilet stall.
I hope that these tips help. If you still find that your cup overflows during your daily outings, cloth pads or period underwear may be a good option for backup.

Thank you for sharing your experience while using both the small and large Venus Cup. We appreciate the feedback even though the cups didn’t work for you. We’re sorry to hear that the large wasn’t comfortable and that you had problems getting the smaller cup to open.
Here are some tips that might help:
1. The cervix is not typically located straight up. Former tampon users will often insert a cup in the same position which may prevent the cup from opening correctly. Instead, from a squatting position, aim the folded cup back and down towards the tailbone.
2. If the cup is inserted all the way before the fold is released, the cervix may be blocking the rim from expanding. Insert the cup half way, allow it to open, and then use a single finger to push it into place.
3. Once the cup is in the correct position, give the stem a gentle tug. You want to feel a slight resistance which means the cup has created a seal. If it slides easily, it’s possible that the cup is not positioned correctly or that the rim has not expanded.
Once you are able to insert and position the cup, it won’t be a hard task and the rubbing will be a thing of the past. Using lubricant during the learning phase will help but won’t always be needed thereafter.
If the cup feels uncomfortable or too long, you may want to check the height of your cervix.
https://venuscup.com/cervix/
Even though the small Venus Cup is shorter than the large, it could still be too long for a low or very low cervix.

If you’ve been practicing for a while and your skin starts to get irritated, it’s time to take a break. I know you want this to work, but being frustrated and full of determination can make it worse. Our bodies will tense up without us realizing. Maybe try again during your next period with a fresh start.
If the stem is causing issues, you can trim it down until you can’t feel it but at a length that you can still reach it during removal.
To date, we have not received any complaints about the stem tearing off. It concerns us. We would be grateful if you could contact us directly with photos. We would like to share them with our manufacturer to ensure that it doesn’t happen again.

Make sure that the cup is positioned correctly by aiming the folded cup back and down towards your tailbone while inserting. After the fold is released, use a finger to feel around the cup’s body for any indentations or if the cervix has been pushed to the side. If either are present, wiggle the cup down and then push it back into place.
As for removal, most people who experience discomfort notice that it is when the cup is just about totally removed. If this is when you start feeling uncomfortable, use your thumb to press down on the side of the cup as it exits. It could possibly be the rim dragging against the urethra.
If you have any other concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly for one on one support. We would love to help you have a more pleasant experience.

We understand how it is with heavy periods. Tampons PLUS a pad weren’t very convenient, cost effective, or comfortable for us either. And although the DivaCup is a trustworthy brand, it just didn’t cut it for our flow. We designed the Venus Cup for individuals like you in mind.
We’re also grateful of the mention about our user manual. We worked hard to get it just right for new cup users, but wanted to have some information that avid users might learn from, too.
We hope that the large Venus Cup continues to provide you with easy and comfortable period protection. Please reach out to us if you ever have questions or concerns. We’ll be here to support you.
