Everything Needed for a Happy Period! With the purchase of the Venus Cup Starter Kit, you will receive both the small and large Venus Cup, a storage pouch for each cup, and a user manual packed with information to help you along your menstrual cup journey.

The Venus Cup collects the menstrual flow instead of absorbing without interfering with the body’s pH balance or natural processes.

The Venus Cup is made of 100% Medical Grade Silicone and uses Medical Grade Colorants.

The Venus Cup is manufactured in the USA and in an FDA registered facility.

  • Locating and Measuring your cervix is one of the best ways to figure out which size will be both easy and comfortable – click here for more details!
  • You may also choose a size based on your menstrual flow needs.

  • Yes. When the Venus Cup is placed correctly, it is undetectable by you or anyone else. If the stem is visible from the outside of the body, it can be trimmed down for comfort.
  • Since the Venus Cup is reusable, you will not need to carry extra menstrual protection products.
  • The Venus Cup holds much more than a tampon and you may not need to empty it as often.

It should be! If you have any discomfort with it at any time, you may need to try different folding techniques, using a water-based personal lubricant, or changing the size.

The Venus Cup is great for a light flow, heavy flow, very heavy flow, when you’re expecting your period but not bleeding yet, or even just to stay dry from discharge!

The Venus Cup won’t have the familiar odor as a rotting disposable tampon or pad. Depending on your body and blood, the Venus Cup may periodically have an odor more like the smell of “iron”. This can be resolved – check this article for more info.

Like with all menstrual cups, there is a chance of leaking. This is a very common problem among new users. It may take time and practice getting things just right, but there are some things that can be done to minimize this from happening – click here for more info!

Everything under the moon and sun! The Venus Cup will allow you the freedom to carry on with your daily activities whether it be school, work, sports, or sleeping!

There are some things to consider when choosing the correct size for you.

    • Cervical height – Low, Medium, High Cervix
    • Previous experience and comfort level
    • Capacity needs

Well I have trusted Venus with my shaving needs for decades, so I was relieved to see this familiar brand in an absolute SEA of menstrual cups! The cups fit as comfortanly as a tampon. Glad the package came with TWO so I could test both sizes to see which worked best. The guide book that came with it was an absolute gem! Really helped me make this transition!Stem is not irritating. Think I'd prefer a ring bur I can live with this.

    It’s Ok
Hard to tell sometimes if it fully opens up. Also, a bit messy to take care of away from home

We’re sorry to hear that you’re not having a perfect experience with the Venus Cup Kit, but appreciate that you took the time to leave us some feedback.
Here are a few tips that may help ensure that the cup is fully expanded:

    - The cervix is not normally located straight up. Instead, insert the folded cup down and back towards your tailbone while in a squat on the ground. This will help put the cup in a better position under or around your cervix.
    - If the cup will not open, try wiggling it down a bit and then use a finger to push it back into place. Often when a cup is inserted completely, the cervix is in the way of letting the rim expand. Wiggling it down will let the cervix correct itself.
    - You can also insert the cup half way, let it expand (below the cervix) and then use a finger to push it up into place.
    - After the cup is in position, try pinching the base a few times to force air out and create a seal.
    - Give the stem (or base of the cup) a gentle tug to make sure that there is a slight resistance. If the cup slides easily, either the rim is not open completely or it did not create a good seal. You will need to readjust by inserting your finger and swiping the cup to the side or pinching the base a few more times.

The large Venus Cup holds 38 ml to the air holes and 47 ml to the rim which is approximately 30% more than the average large-sized menstrual cup on the market. Depending on how low your cervix rests inside of the cup will determine how much capacity is available. This is the same with any menstrual cup on the market and will vary from one person to the next. Although this is normally sufficient to hold a cup user for at least 8 hours during a heavy flow, there are some users who need to empty their cups sooner.
The key to emptying a menstrual cup away from home is to be prepared.
    - Empty the cup before you leave the house so that you start with full capacity.
    - Empty the cup at a set time before it is full to minimize spillovers and reduce mess.
    - If you do not have access to a private toilet with a sink, pack a few wet wipes or a wet cloth in a pocket or bag to clean yourself and hands. You can also dampen a couple of paper towels (do not flush them) if the facility provides them, before entering a toilet stall.

I hope that these tips help. If you still find that your cup overflows during your daily outings, cloth pads or period underwear may be a good option for backup.

I don't want to create excess waste so I picked this after reading many reviews. I'm 26 and haven't had kids but the large one was so painful I couldn't even keep it in for more than 5 seconds each time... I don't see how anyone uses these without some type of lubricant. I've tried the small one many ways and it just won't open up all the way so it won't create a proper seal and it leaks. It also irritates because the rubbery material is thick and keeps rubbing on my skin and has left a raw "rug burn" from going in an out... I also have a hard time grabbing and pulling the wand and had it tear off... The silicone is very sturdy but just too thick for me. I'm going to have to try a different method

We’re sorry to hear that you’re having issues with the Venus Cup Kit. It can take some practice to get over the learning curve and we understand how incredibly frustrating it can be. It sounds as though the large Venus Cup is too wide for your comfort. The small should feel more comfortable once you master it. Hopefully the following tips will help:

    - The cervix is not normally located straight up. Instead, insert the folded cup down and back towards your tailbone while in a squat on the ground. This will help put the cup in a better position under or around your cervix.
    - If the cup will not open, try wiggling it down a bit and then use a finger to push it back into place. Often when a cup is inserted completely, the cervix is in the way of letting the rim expand. Wiggling it down will let the cervix correct itself.

You will need to readjust by inserting your finger and swiping the cup to the side or pinching the base a few more times.

If you’ve been practicing for a while and your skin starts to get irritated, it’s time to take a break. I know you want this to work, but being frustrated and full of determination can make it worse. Our bodies will tense up without us realizing. Maybe try again during your next period with a fresh start.

If the stem is causing issues, you can trim it down until you can’t feel it but at a length that you can still reach it during removal.
To date, we have not received any complaints about the stem tearing off. It concerns us. We would be grateful if you could contact us directly with photos. We would like to share them with our manufacturer to ensure that it doesn’t happen again.
If you would like some one on one support, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We’re always here for support.

This was the 2nd menstrual cup I tried. I have a high cervix so initially I bought the Lily cup, but I didn't like the poking firm stem or the fact that it didn't have air holes making breaking the seal complicated and painful. The Venus cup changed all this. I've only used the small cup so far. Its stem is long and flexible making it easy to find and providing a good grip. Breaking the seal was easily achieved every time just by pinching the bottom of the cup. This made removing the cup fast and less stressful. I use a dab of lubricant to facilitate insertion and as soon as I pass the pelvic bone the cup always fully opens. No leaks for 12 hrs even on high flow days. Very comfortable. I can't feel it once in place. That means I can completely forget about my period for 12 hrs. Wish I had heard about menstrual cups sooner. Don't think I will try the large cup included in the set since the small one works so well for me.

It definitely does what it's supposed to do. I had one issue where I had the bigger cup inside of me for the heavier flow and for some reason, I don't know if it was because of how I was sitting or what, I started to leak pretty heavily over the cup even though it had been staying secure for a few hours. But as far as the product goes, I am definitely satisfied with it and will keep using it for as long as I can. Sometimes it's a little uncomfortable trying to remove it, but it's okay

This is my second cycle using these cups and I really like them! I bought the combo pack as I’m new to menstrual cups and wasn’t sure what size I’d need. I’ve been using the small more as I seem to have a lower cervix. Because of this I had to trim the stem completely off so that it wouldn’t poke me. It’s been very comfortable and while I can feel some light “pressure” while wearing it’s nothing too uncomfortable. It’s honestly the same sensation I get when using a super tampon.I do hope they come out with a version for shorter cervix, but I’ll keep using this till they do!I don’t think I will ever go back to tampons unless I get a surprise visit and have nothing else available.

I have a really heavy menstrual flow the first few days of my period (my mother said she did too, guess it's a genetic thing). Tampons are pretty much useless with heavy flow, wearing an overnight pad during the day is ridiculously bulky and uncomfortable. Menstrual cups can hold a lot between changes, so I decided to give them a go.I've tried the DivaCup that I found at the local drugstore, but then I saw this Venus Cup that can hold more. The DivaCup has more of a V shape, whereas the Venus Cup is more of a U shape, which gives the Venus Cup more capacity. I thought it might feel uncomfortable with the U shape, but it's not, it sits up high enough where you don't know it's there and it's got a nice soft silicone material. It definitely suctions in place to prevent any leaks. I got the Venus Cup Starter Kit so I could try both sizes, but so far I've just used the larger size and it's worked fine. The cups come with nice canvas-type bags to store them in, and I received a booklet that has detailed instructions, FAQ and even troubleshooting tips. That's super awesome for a first-timer--honestly, after looking through the booklet, you'll pretty much be an expert on menstrual cups--it's that amazingly useful.Since I've used a menstrual cup before, I personally didn't even need the instructions-- just opened the box, rinsed off the cup, and popped it in no problem--but again, I'd used a menstrual cup before. The first time I'd ever tried using a menstrual cup was a different story! The main things I need from a menstrual cup are large holding capacity with no leaks and that the cup is comfortable. I also want the cup to last a long time so that it pays for itself with the money I don't spend on pads or tampons. This is made from high-quality silicone that can stand up to boiling, so I get the feeling it's going to last a long time (booklet says it could last 10 or more years). Also, the Venus Cup material has a purple color that stays true, unlike the clear DivaCup that starts turning yellow after one or two uses. What else can I add? Oh, the shipping was very fast, I received it 2 days after ordering (on a Saturday) even though I don't have Amazon Prime. It works for me and is comfortable, so I can highly recommend the Venus Cup if you are searching for a menstrual cup to buy.
