The small-sized Venus Cup is perfect for those who have a lighter flow or those who want to use a cup to stay dry from discharge or spotting.

The small would also be more comfortable for those with a medium to a low cervix, or those who may have a tilted cervix.

If you consider yourself a virgin, are a teen, believe to have a narrow vaginal opening, or are a new user, this size may be a little easier to work with and creates a smaller insertion point for a comfortable inserting and removal process.

Although the small-sized Venus Cup has a lower capacity, it holds 22ml to the air holes and 29ml to the rim. This is about 10% more than the average small sized menstrual cup and is equal to approximately 5 regular absorbency tampons.

For those who choose the smaller size Venus Cup and have a medium cervix, you’ll be happy to know that we have included a long solid and sturdy stem just in case you need the extra length. If it is not needed, it can be easily shortened by trimming each ‘cone’ until it is comfortable.

I will never go back to any other form of menstrual protection. It's a little hard to get used to inserting but once you do, it's comfortable, and you don't have to think about. Set it and forget it....for 12 hours. It's awesome and you save so much money.

    Extremely soft
This cup is very comfortable but a little too soft for my personal preference. It doesn't open as easily as firmer cups.

We’re sorry that the small Venus Cup didn’t have the firmness that you were hoping for. It’s always a hit or miss regarding firmness from one user to the next. While we tried to keep the firmness a medium to appease a majority of cup users, it’s always going to be too soft or too firm for some. We’re just sorry that you were one of them. We’re confident that you will find something that suits your needs even if it isn’t the Venus Cup.

After trying a few drugstore brands with limited success and more than a little discomfort, I decided to upgrade to the Venus since it's supposed to last for up to 10 years. So far, it has exceeded my expectations and I doubt that I'll ever go back to disposable products.Let's start with the packaging, which isn't all that important in the big scheme of things, but I went "Oooh!" when I opened my envelope from Amazon because the box is actually pretty! I got a little excited because package quality often kind of gives a preview of what's inside and after trying so many cups with mixed results I really wanted to like this one. Anyway, the pretty purple box is a bit bigger than I thought it would be. In fact, I was kind of worried that the cup would be too large. But inside the box is a nice user guide, along with a storage bag for the cup. The storage bag is a nice touch and it was a surprise since I didn't notice it mentioned in the product description. The cup itself doesn't take up a lot of space inside the box.On to the Venus cup itself:Feel - The cup is made with soft silicone, but it doesn't feel at all floppy if that makes sense. At the same time, it is very easy to fold using a few different techniques outlined in the instructions so you can keep a grip on it and prevent it from opening too soon. Also, I use a little bit of KY just on the cup's rim to help it slide all the way up and around the cervix. The rim is firm enough to pop fully open. You can kind of feel how it snaps into place once you release your grip on it. So, I didn't have any trouble getting the Venus into position on the first try, but I'm not new to menstrual cups. It's nice that the guide includes some troubleshooting tips, I'm sure I'm not the only one who had to practice a few times when first learning how to use a menstrual cup!The Venus cup has measurements on the inside instead of the outside, and there are no rough edges anywhere. I am not experiencing any discomfort or irritation even though the cup fits firmly in place. I got the small size and I'm not feeling any pressure on my bladder, which was an issue with another brand I tried.I've just been going about my business as usual, and I'm not noticing any problems with this cup. For example, I'm not feeling any shifting when I laugh or sneeze, and it stayed in place while I was at the gym.Leaks - Leaking has not been an issue but I am still going to wear period panties for a backup in case I have an overflow or if I tuck it in incorrectly in the future.Removal - It is really easy to get this cup out thanks to the stem. You do have to give a little tug to break the seal between the ring and your anatomy, and I've had to give a bit of a push with my pelvic muscles as well. This is really no problem, way easy and far cleaner than some others. I have tried the "flat fit" menstrual cups before and had a really hard time getting them out, plus they were really messy in comparison with this one. The stem and the rest of the cup's structure do a good job of keeping "Aunt Flo" contained during the removal process. You don't have to dig around to find it, and you don't end up with a "crime scene" all over the toilet. Emptying is easy too.Capacity - As for capacity, I read that you can keep this cup in place for 12 hours but I haven't left it in that long. I did leave it in overnight (about 9 hours) and it still had room when I removed it.All things considered, I'm very happy with this cup and I really hope it lasts the full 10 years. Venus did a great job with the design, thanks!

    Hi Morgan,

Thank you for sharing a wealth of information about your initial thoughts and your experience while using the small Venus Cup. We’re honored that you decided to try our cup after using a few more well-known brands off the shelf. We worked really hard on putting together a user manual that was detailed for the new users. But we also wanted to include some information that avid users, like yourself, could still find something new. Thank you for appreciating that.

We couldn’t be more pleased to learn that you had an easy time inserting and removing the Venus Cup, as well as a comfortable period throughout. We hope that it becomes one of your favorite menstrual management products for many years.

    Cheers!
