The large-sized Venus Cup is perfect for those who have a heavier flow or those who experience clotting.

The large would also be easier to reach for those who have a medium to a high cervix, or a very high cervix.

You may prefer this size if you have a light to moderate flow for the extra capacity and wearing time up to 12 hours.

The large Venus Cup has a capacity of 38ml to the air holes and 47ml to the rim. This is about 30% more than the average large sized cup and is equal to approximately 9 regular absorbency tampons.

Larger cups sometimes lose their firmness near the rim and can be difficult to open.  We have included an invisible secondary rim in which the silicone is slightly thicker near the air holes, as well as an inner ring for reinforcement. Both of these features will aid in helping the cup to open after the fold is released.

I used to use the Super Jennie, but had issues with the stem breaking off. When researching other high capacity cups I came across the Venus so thought I would give it a try. I have extremely extremely heavy periods, having to wear a back up pad and empty even high capacity cups every hour and a half to 2 hours. The venus was very easy for me to insert, it opened up much easier than other cups! And thus made it easier to remove. I feel like it sits lower than other cups I've tried but it is so comfortable that I do not notice.I still have to empty it often on my heavy days but the comfort and ease makes up for it. Highly recommend if you have a heavy flow.

Thank you for sharing your experience while using the large Venus Cup. Especially compared to a well-known brand. I'm sorry to hear that you had some issues in the past with a stem breaking off of a cup. We added an extra bead of silicone at the cups' stress point to avoid this from happening with our cup.
I am pleased to hear that the Venus Cup is easier and more comfortable for you with your extremely heavy periods. Thank you for the recommendation and please contact us directly should you ever need support.

    Best wishes. Stay well.

I bought this when I finally got sick of leaking thru super plus tampons within 2 hours (Along with the backup pads). From past ob/gyn appointments I knew I have a high cervix and obviously a heavy flow. The thought of these always grossed me out but considering I leak so badly I figured it can’t be worse. I’ve read people usually have to try multiple brands and sizes to get it right but not me! This is the first one I’ve tried and it is amazing and works for me perfectly. I can’t leave it in for 12 hours as they suggest and after about 6 I’m completely filled but I definitely recommend. I’ve actually told my 2 best friends about it and now they’re considering them as well. A plus is it produces no waste and not having to put nasty used tampons in the garbage is great. Only tricky thing is having to empty and rinse it while at work with a shared bathroom but I can sometimes stretch it long enough to wear thru my 8 hour shift, I just use a backup (pad) in case.

    Hi Katie,

We understand that the gross factor is very real, but we're happy to hear that you still took a chance to try a menstrual cup!
It's amazing what a little information about a part of the body we don't normally see, can do! Choosing the large Venus Cup for your high cervix was a great choice. Not only does it have a high capacity, but it also has the length that will make it easy to reach.
Indeed, it may not hold up a full 12 hours during a very heavy flow, but if or when your period lightens up during the middle to end, you should be able to leave it in for longer.
A tip for the workplace - if your establishment provides paper towels, you can wet a couple of them before going into the stall. One to wipe the cup as best as you can and the other to wipe your hand so you don't exit the stall with evidence. You can also use pH balanced wet wipes or reusable cloth.
Thank you for sharing your experience while using the large Venus Cup. Please don't hesitate to contact us at any time should you need one on one support.

Best wishes and thank you for the recommendation,

This is my third cup and needed one with a larger capacity. I haven’t been using cups for long but this one seems pretty good. The cup is soft and comfortable. Insertion and removal was relatively easy. My first cup was the Flex cup, which has a tampon like stem and I find it the easiest to remove. However, this cup was fine to remove. The grip texture at base of the cup helps. I especially liked the booklet that came with. As mentioned, I have other cups and am relatively new, but the booklet was still helpful. The pages that help you figure how long you can leave the cup in was helpful. Most say they can be worn for up to 12 hours but depends on the cycle. This page helps you gauge that.

    Hello Tanya,

Thank you for sharing your positive experience while using the large Venus Cup. I'm happy to hear that it has the capacity that you need and that you were able to work through the insertion and removal process fairly easily. It should become even easier with time and practice. If you find yourself needing some support, don't hesitate to contact us directly. We're always here to help!
Also, thank you for pointing out that our user manual includes some information on learning when to empty the cup. It's a great question that is often overlooked when learning how to use a cup.
We hope that the Venus Cup provides you with comfortable, mess & leak-free protection for years to come.

    Cheers & stay well.

    Hello Tathiana,

Thank you for sharing your feedback and experience while using the large Venus Cup. I'm sorry that it felt a little too thick. We designed the rim to be a little thicker for easy opening, but we understand that it might be uncomfortable for some users. If you don't have any problems removing the cup without a stem, you can try turning the cup inside out to make it slightly narrower. It's safe to use and might make it more comfortable.
Other than that, I'm happy to hear that it can stand up to your heavy flow and that you get a good night's rest.

The cup is BIG, guys. If you're just starting out, I honestly wouldn't recommend this cup, because it'd probably be difficult to insert for new user and might even be a bit too large for those with shorter vaginas, or people who haven't had intercourse. Also, the silicone is very firm, much firmer than the DivaCup (which is what I used before). This makes it easier for the cup to open up and stay open once inserted, but it can be uncomfortable if you have a sensitive vagina. And removal with a firmer cup is more of an ordeal, even for someone like me, who has used menstrual cups for years now. That being said, if you've used menstrual cups before and you have a really heavy flow (as in, you can fill up a normal 30ml menstrual cup in 3-5 hours during your heaviest flow), this cup is really convenient. I used to use the DivaCup size 2, but I would still have to change it every 3-4 hours during the second and third days of my period. With this cup, I can get a solid 6-7 hours of sleep before I need to change it. I might get a different cup for the daytime, because this cup isn't the most comfortable, but it's definitely an excellent nighttime cup for those with really heavy flows.
    Reply from Venus Cup Team:
    Hi Emma Li,

Thank you for all of the wonderful details of your experience with the large Venus Cup. Although the Venus Cup is about the same length and diameter of other large-sized menstrual cups, the body keeps that diameter to the base of the cup instead of tapering to a point. This is the feature that allows our cup to have a higher capacity. Indeed, it won't be the cup for everyone, since no cup is "one size fits all".
We also would like to thank you for sharing your thoughts on the firmness. It's always hard to gauge how soft or firm cup is since everyone has a different perception of the feeling even if you are comparing it to a well known brand. Some users do the same comparison and say that the Venus Cup is softer. I don't think anyone will know exactly how soft or firm it will be for them unless they feel it first hand, but it's always good to have feedback.
If the large Venus Cup feels too wide or firm, you can try turning it inside out to see if it feels more comfortable. It's safe to use like this as long as you can remove the cup without the stem.
Either way, we're happy to hear that it at least gets you a good night's rest for your heavy days.
Although you're an experience user, please don't hesitate to contact us directly should you need one on one support.

I have twins and I had a vaginal delivery. This cup is great and I am very happy for buying it. Amazing capacity!I have been using menstrual cups since 5 months ago and this is the third one that I have bought since then. I think this is the best of the three because I have high cervix and heavy flow.I had to "give birth" with the others I tried everytime I had to take them out because they went up and I couldn't reach them enough to pinch the base. With this one it is much more easy.I did not have any problem inserting it. The material is soft and it has the perfect firmness for me. I really recommend this one for those who have the same characteristics than me.

After using the smaller Diva cup for years, I kept having issues with leaking (either it didn’t open all the way or it was full) so I decided to see what else was out there. It took a few months of research (and procrastination) to finally decide on the Venus cup - a new cup means a few cycles of mishaps before you get it right, right? Not this one. I’m absolutely in love with it! The bell shape allows it to hold more (no more leaks) and it also pops open every time because it’s slightly more rigid. That being said, once it’s in, it’s not noticeable at all. Like anything worth doing, it takes some patience and practice to get the right insert/removal method. I highly recommend this cup for ladies with a heavier flow/leakage problems! I should have bought it sooner!

I have used a variety of cups and this one by far holds the most. I have a very heavy flow the first few days of my cycle and I normally have to empty a normal cup every 2 hours. This definitely gives me a bit more time between emptying. There are some serious problems though. One problem with this cup is how it is very difficult to remove. I have a very high cervix and I can barely reach the tip of the stem. When I find the stem and try to wiggle it down like I can with most cups, I just can't keep a hold on the grip rings. The stem is so slippery and the suction of the cup is so strong it's almost impossible to remove. Also this cup gave me the worst cramps in my entire life. It must've suctioned to my cervix or something. I do really like the instruction manual it comes with though. It is very detailed and helpful if you're a new cup user. Long story short I returned it since the cramps it gave me were unbearable.

    Hi C and D Thomas,

Thank you for taking a moment to share your experience with the large Venus Cup. We're happy to hear that capacity can give you more time between needing to be emptied. However, I'm sorry that you're having trouble removing it. The rounded base might be the culprit. It's one of the features that help make it a higher capacity cup without adding extra length. Although, in your situation, you probably would have welcomed that. Also, everyone will have a different experience with how a particular cup seals while wearing it or suctions during removal. I hope that you can work it out in the end (no pun intended - well, maybe a little).

    Hi Jessica,

Thank you for sharing your experience with the large Venus Cup. We're happy to hear that you haven't had any leaks even if you feel like the cup is not opening all the way. If it's just a small dent in the body, there's no reason to worry. However, if there is a dent near the rim, you might want to wiggle the cup down a bit and then use a finger to push it back up. The cervix can get in the way of the rim sometimes.

Cheers to high capacity and no leaks!

The menstrual cup is sturdy and not flimsy which is great. I got it because I keep overflowing from my other cup. I tried to put in the cup but it was a bit painful and difficult (even after reading the booklet) so I will try again when my next cycle comes and be more relaxed. However one thing I noticed about the cup exterior is that its a dust magnet. Any fabric fuzzies gets glued on there due to the material of the cup's wall (rubbery) which is annoying and surprised they thought that this is okay. Not sure if thats normal for all cups because I have only used the Initimina Lily Cup which is great and doesnt have this issue. Other than that, super excited to see how this product works out even though the first try-out wasn't ideal!
    Reply from Venus Cup Team:
    Hi Jen,

I'm sorry that you didn't have success with the large Venus Cup right from the start. It is quite a different body shape than your current cup so it may take some time adjusting the insertion process. A bit of water-based lubricant may help ease the cup in until you're comfortable with it.
As for the fuzzies sticking to the silicone - the Venus Cup is made of medical-grade silicone in an FDA registered facility in the USA. We have all of our paperwork in order and are FDA compliant each step of the way.
Our bodies normally neutralize static electricity. Some times or days it's more or less than others (like when you have frizzy hair one day but not the next) and it can cause our cups to attract more lint, dust, or fuzz. However, I can't speak for cups made in China (like your current cup) as I don't know the quality of the silicone.
I hope that you can get the large Venus Cup to work for you. Please don't hesitate to contact us directly should you need any support. We'll try our best to help you have a successful experience.

    Best wishes. Stay well.

I use the dive cup size 1 (smaller one) primarily. For the first night or two of my cycle, I used to have to get up once in the middle of the night to empty it, which is highly unpleasant when you're tired. During the day, I'd have to empytit every few hours. With this big cup, I only have to empty a few times during the day the first couple days. I empty it before bed, and it the morning. It completely solved my problem. It's a bit more difficult to get to open inside, so I just feel for my cervix and guide it into place. It was such a good purchase. The stem doesn't both me, so I didn't have to cut it at all.I only use it the first two day, then I use the diva cup because it's easier to get it. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to go longer in between emptying.

I have tried multiple cups over many many years. I have never been able to get the hang of them until now. After using this one twice I have had no issues with position or leakage. I am a super heavy flow girl and the ones I used prior I was pretty much emptying constantly...like once an hour. Between them not setting right and not holding a whole lot it was just useless. I did some research and found this one seems to hold the most. I have to agree it does. I normally can go 6-8 hours on my HEAVIEST days. At night I still have some issues...I can go about the same amount of time which kind of sucks cause I usually wake up to leakage or I wake up cause I am nervous I will leak. I have recently started using it with period panties and they work well together. I am so happy I bought this.

The suction is very good and this is a great high-capacity cup, but the biggest problem I had with this cup is that the stem is rounded and smoothed and absolutely impossible to grip. It's worse than useless. If you are the sort of person that cuts off the stem this should not be a problem and this may be the cup for you. However, if you have a high cervix or have had issues in the past with cups making cramping worse, I would not recommend this cup.Overall, this cup has the perfect firmness level for a good ballance between comfort and ease of use and I love the color! It's dark enough to hide stains without being an ugly color. Plus I love purple! But I cannot give the cup more than 3 stars because it's the closest I've ever come to getting a cup stuck and the stem needs a complete redesign.

I'm sorry to hear that the large Venus Cup wasn't a perfect fit for you. Although our feedback from high cervix users was mostly positive, menstrual cups are not a one size fits all product and we understand that it's not going to get the right cup for everyone.

A few years ago I decided to try switching from tampons to a cup. It seemed like a better more natural choice financially and environmentally. I started off with another brand, as I was new to this and it had pretty good reviews. Since then I’ve tried a few different brands because I couldn’t seem to find one that was easy to insert without staying all crumpled up and leaking, East to remove without having a larger uncomfortable tab to pull and one that could handle my extremely heavy periods. I was emptying the cup literally every 40-45 minutes if I was lucky. I decided to try the Venus heavy flow cup with not very high expectations, as the other cups were meant for a heavy flow as well. I am truly impressed with its performance. I’ve read good reviews about the other brands I’ve tried but they never exceeded my expectations. The Venus cup is absolutely the best cup out there. And I’ve tried almost all of them looking for the perfect one for me. I’m in my mid 40’s and my monthly cycle is extremely heavy. This cup let’s me go at least an hour before emptying it. No leaks, it sits up in there nice and tight and is not uncomfortable. I have no issues inserting it or removing it. It holds a good amount of fluid and honestly it’s budget friendly too. This is one cup I would definitely recommend to anyone who has a heavy cycle or a short cervix such as myself. I think my search is over. I’ve found a good quality menstrual cup.

    Hi Dawnmarie,

Thank you so much for sharing your detailed experience while using the large Venus Cup. I'm happy to hear that it was easy to use and comfortable to wear. Although, I am sorry to hear that it still doesn't provide you with hours of protection, not just AN hour. I understand the struggle of heavy periods. That's why we designed the Venus Cup to be high capacity. However, your period sounds extremely heavy. I might suggest asking your physician if there's a homeopathic supplement (or tea) to help with heavy bleeding.
Also, because of the length of the large, most users think that it won't be comfortable. Mentioning that you have a short cervix is a testament that some individuals with a low cervix can still use it without issue.

Cheers to eco & budget-friendly period protection!

I really like this cup and I’d recommend it to anyone who has a heavier flow and needs something firm. It isn’t so firm that it’s uncomfortable, but firm enough that it pops open easily, which is especially helpful if you’re new to using cups. If you have a high cervix this is perfect because of its size it’s easier to reach than most cups. The only problem that I’ve had with it is how difficult it can be to get out sometimes when it gets so slippery because the surface is so smooth with nothing to grip. I’d definitely still recommend it though.

    Hi Kayla,

Thank you for sharing your experience with the large Venus Cup. We're happy to hear that it has been fairly easy to use, comfortable to wear, and has the capacity that you were hoping for. However, we're sorry to hear that the surface of the silicone is so smooth that it doesn't allow you to get a good grip on it. I hope that it gets easier over time.

An affordable high-capacity cup...Yes! Or maybe not? The first time that I used this cup it popped open easily, shimmied its way up to my high cervix, and stayed there while I slept. In the morning I was excited to remove my cup, and see all that it had collected. I found that the stem is not too stretchy, and can be a bit slippery. If you cup can move like mine usually does, the cup had pushed the stem against my vaginal wall. It was had for me to grab without pinching or poking myself. Finally, I found the bottom of the cup. I decided to give it a squeeze to break the seal. The seal would not break, and the cup had the greatest suction on the bottom of my cervix. It had a grasp that was unrelenting. I hand to get my fingers midway of the cup to squeeze and break the suction. Not fun! The best part: My blood was to the suction holes of the cup after getting 6hrs of rest on day one. This is while my period was light. I had just started that night. No leaks! I have leaked with more expensive cups. Sooo...I did not use the cup again until the next cycle. I knew what I had to do to remove it. Opening had not been a problem, so I knew that I had this. WRONG! I could not get this cup to open properly. I thought that it had opened when it hadn't. Lesson learned. Don't let anyone rush you when you are putting in a new or kind of new cup. One gush 5 minutes after I thought wrong, my thin period panties were covered. Try number 3 and 4 went okay. There was some stamping even after wiping with two wipes. During a heavy flow I can get 5 hours on a good run. I have decided that this is not the cup for me. I have to think way too much when inserting and removing. Plus, I am constantly worried about stamping and leaking. What I do know, it that it has worked sleeping 6 hours without a leak is great for me. Even on a lighter day. Trying g a new cup with an issue of stamping is normal for an extremely heavy bleeder like me. This cup will be great for someone that is not like me. It is worth a try.

    Hello StacieDAE,

I'm sorry that your experience with the large Venus Cup was not 100% perfect. It sounds like it was able to hold your flow, but inserting and removing it should not be this difficult when a cup is right for you.
If you're willing to give it another try, here are some tips that will hopefully help:

    Inserting:
    - Make sure to aim the folded cup down and back towards your tailbone (while squatting on the ground or in the tub). This will help your cup be in the best possible position just under or around your cervix. When it creates a slight seal, it should not move around.
    - If the cup doesn't want to expand, rock the cup down a bit before pushing it back into place. Often when a cup is inserted all the way, the cervix will block the rim from opening completely.

    Removing:
    - If you're having difficulties reaching the cup, squat and bear down with your muscles (doing this in the tub will make for easy clean-up). This will push the cup down so that you can reach the stem or base a little easier.
    - If you're stamping or having some spotting, squat down after inserting the cup and wipe the stem and base of any excess blood.

You mentioned that this is a new or kind of new cup for you. Please understand that there may be a learning curve until you are comfortable with using it even if you've used other cups before.
Since the Venus Cup can hold you over for a good amount of time without a leak, we hope that in the end you won't have to think about how to insert or remove it.

Please don't hesitate to contact us directly should you need one on one support. We're always here for you.

Otherwise, thank you for giving the Venus Cup a try. Again, we're sorry that it wasn't the right cup for you but appreciate that you understand that a single cup isn't for every user.

    Best Wishes. Stay well.

Bought this as a second cup bc my favorite cup (voxapod) just wasn't cutting it on my heaviest days. This is much larger than the cup I'm used to, so it took a bit for me to get used to (I have to use a different fold). Now that I have it figured out, I absolutely love it for my heavy days (I don't have to empty my cup 1/hr anymore!)

The large sized cup is a game changer for me! I have extremely heavy flows on day 2 and tampons and pads weren’t working anymore. I tried another brand of menstrual cup sized small and large, and they worked well, but the large still wouldn’t last during the night sometimes. I did some research on sizes and the Venus cup offers ones of more affordable, large sized cups so I decided to try it. I am so glad because I can worry less about accidents. It’s the same length as other cups but just has a wider base and slightly larger diameter. It does take a bit more practice to insert it than the smaller sized cups; I figured out that I need to hold it folded longer while inserting. I don’t feel it and it stays in place.

I’m 30 and this is my first time using a cup. I’ve been using tampons since I was 14 and I will never go back to them. Like I said this is my first time using a cup so I can’t compare these to others, but the experience was great. It was pretty easy to use. I watched ALOT of YouTube videos before I even ordered just to make sure I got a good idea on how to use it. I got it on my first try and I was able to wear it over 9 hours without even filling it up half way! On my heaviest day! What!? It will change your entire period experience. The cup itself is kind of firm even after boiling it but definitely not uncomfortable at all. You can’t even feel it. Definitely do your research on cups and how to use so you have a good understanding of it. Just try it, you will not regret it.

I’ve tried SO many cups, but this one is by far my favorite. It holds more without leaking than any other cup I’ve used but somehow feels less noticeable when worn. The stem shape is comfortable as well, I like that it’s not as wide as many other brands, yet it’s sufficiently sturdy so it doesn’t feel like it’s going to break during removal. The cup itself is the perfect middle ground of thickness.... flexible enough that it’s comfortable, but not so flexible that it’s flimsy. I love it!

I bought this because of the stated capacity, but read it again: that's 'to the rim'. Be advised that this cup will leak at anything above 20ml which is well below the rim. For frame of reference: if you have to change an Ultra tampon every 90 minutes, you'll have to empty the cup after 4 1/2 hours. Anything over 5 hours, and you'll be leaking. which is why I deducted two stars. Other than that, I don't have any issues with this product. In fact, I quite like it.
    Reply from Venus Cup Team:
I’m sorry that you didn’t have a good experience with the Venus Cup. The large Venus Cup holds 38 ml to the air holes and 47 ml to the rim which is approximately 30% more than the average large-sized menstrual cup on the market. Depending on how low your cervix rests inside of the cup will determine how much capacity is available. This is the same with any menstrual cup on the market and will vary from one person to the next. 38 ml even at the air holes, is still a higher capacity than most average large-sized cups at maximum capacity.

Again, I’m sorry that the Venus Cup didn’t work out for you but we’re confident that you will find something that suits your needs.

Hey, I had heard about menstrual cups yers ago but it seamed weird. A medical change in my life made my period so heavy this past year I was soaking through tampons and pads almost every 2 hours on my heavy days. So on a friends advice I decided to give it a try.It works so well, I still wear a pad just in case on my heavy days but as long as I get to in correctly it does not leak at all. I have been using it for about 4 cycles at this point and I get it in correctly about 90% of the time.In truth the first month was tricky. It does take practice to know what it feels like to get it in correctly and how to push to remove it. But a little practice is all it takes. If you get frustrated take a day off and tray again later. It’s so worth it. I was confident in using it by the end of my second cycle.I will never go back to tampons, I love is method.

I’m not fan of this cup even though I really want to be. I bought it because of its large capacity. Sadly, it leaks constantly. I’m not new to using a cup, so this is quite frustrating. It will leak when it barely has anything in it. It’s not like it will start leaking right after putting it in. It will start to leak 3 hours later. I feel like it is loosing suction and falling out of me. Not good. Will have to order another one.
    Reply from Venus Cup Team:
    Hello Jo,
I'm sorry to hear that the Venus Cup didn't live up to your expectations. Although you are not new to menstrual cups, I hope that I can share some tips with you that might help eliminate the leaking issues.

Make sure to aim the cup down and back toward your tailbone (from a squatting position). Our cervix is not typically located straight up. If a cup is inserted as such, it may push the cervix to the side and not within the rim of the cup.

Insert a finger to feel around the cup and make sure it has expanded. If you feel any indents, pinch the base or spin the cup as best as you can to try to get the rim to open completely. If this doesn't work, rock the cup down and back & forth. Sometimes the cervix is in the way of allowing the rim to open.

After the cup is inserted, use a wet wipe or cloth to clean the base and stem. There is often residual blood coating the vaginal walls that eventually make its way onto your underwear with gravity.

I hope these tips help. If there's anything else I can help you with, please don't hesitate to contact us directly. We're here for support.

I ordered this in size Large because after getting off of hormonal birth control and getting the Paragard IUD instead, my period went back to how it was before the hormones - heavy! I started with the Luna cup (small I believe) and it just wasn't working for me anymore, I had to empty it every few hours or else I'd be leaking (Luna is still a great cup, just too small for me now!)Enter Venus! It's incredible. It isn't the softest cup I've ever used, but it's not overly firm. I'd say it's a soft medium. Good grip rings, easy to feel it open and make sure it's completely open. And I only have to empty it once every 12 hours!! Incredible! This has answered my prayers and I don't fear overfilling anymore.

    Reply from Venus Cup Team:
    Hi Erica,

I'm sorry to hear that you found the large Venus Cup rim too soft. We tried to keep it a medium firmness by including an inner ring to help the rim open. Unfortunately, it still isn't the firmness you hoped for.
If you ever feel like giving the Venus Cup a try again, there are some helpful tips in the user manual that might help troubleshoot getting the rim to open.
    I'll include a couple here:
Insert the cup halfway, allow it to open, and then use a finger to push it into place.
Insert the cup halfway, press it to the vaginal wall and let it expand. Then use a finger to push it into place.
Often when a softer cup is inserted all the way, the cervix will block the rim from opening. Allowing the cup to open lower in the vaginal canal may avoid this.
We are also always available for support.
Otherwise, I hope that you find the perfect cup for your periods even if it isn't the Venus Cup.

I can’t even express how happy I am to have finally found the right cup for me.I have been searching for years. I’ve bought and tried over 6 different cups. It was so frustrating because every company claimed either I was putting it in wrong, one size fits all mentality or I needed to keep giving it a try. I know my body!My cervix is high and either the cups would move too high and I would leak everywhere or they would move too low and I would leak everywhere. It was so frustrating to use tampons and pads and know the damage I was doing to the environment.AND THEN! I tried the Venus cup. And it is perfect for my high cervix. My relief is so immense I could cry. I won’t claim this is the perfect cup for everyone, because we are all different, but I will say don’t give up. Your cup is out there somewhere.

I love this cup! It has the capacity to last me several hours on my heaviest days and yet it's still soft and pliable so it doesn't bother me on my light days. I haven't had any leaks even after overnight use on my heavy days and I don't dread my cycle anymore.

I started using cups with the Lily cup and love them. They save money and help save the earth from more trash. Anyway, I ordered this one because the lily only handles so many mL and heavy flows require bigger cups. I looked for reviews and found this one on a YouTube review. Ordered it the other day, came in a day later and I put it on right away. First thing - wash it well with warm soap and a non-abrasive cleaner, preferably baking soda or even vaginal cleaners - keeps the silicone from wearing down. Used the taco fold method and it was easy in! I can't feel it at all, unlike the Lily cup where I feel the pull out nub even when lying down. I think this is a great investment!

So menstrual cups are kinda tricky to find and select. It's not easy to get advice from your friends, co-workers, and other women on which cup might work best. All of us have different vaginas. No two cervix are made a like. And some of us have heavy, unpredictable cycles, while others are light as a feather, stiff as a board. I want to share my experience, and if yours sounds similar, this maybe this will help you make a decision. This is my 3rd cup, and the first one that has worked for the level of very heavy cycles that plagues me. To put that into context, prior to transitioning to the cup, I was wearing Ultra tampons and a backup pad. I am a 34 year-old mother, but delivered via emergency c-section only. I have what is considered a high cervix. My prior cups were the Flex Cup (in whatever the largest size is) and the Saalt (also in the largest size). My primary issue with both of those cups is I would leave the house at 0700 for work, and be leaking before 0900 regularly. Not that they are not good cups, but they just were not right for my body. The Flex was the better between those 2, but definitely not better than the Venus.I reviewed the menstrual cup comparison chart on the "Put it in a Cup" website, and it directed me to Venus. A proper fitting cup is the key (the website also has a quiz if you are interested in trying to narrow down your options). And Venus has propelled me to Cup Level: ZEN. It is comfortable, for me. It has great suction. And I have not had and leakage problems, even on my extremely heavy days 2-3. I honestly forgot that I was wearing a cup at some point in the day, and that is incredible. This cup thing may be a little trickier to narrow down which one is right for you, but if you have a high cervix, have delivered a baby vaginally or caesarean, bleed heavy, the I would consider this cup without a doubt!!!

I’ve used a regular size saalt cup for about 6 months before trying the large Venus and I will never go back. The Venus cup is so much softer, more flexible, easier to grip, and has a higher capacity! The saalt cup would occasionally create too much suction at my cervix and cause extremely severe cramping, but this cup has a slightly larger, softer rim so I don’t have that problem, but still no leaks! If you have a heavy flow and have had trouble finding a comfortable cup, you neeeeeed to try this one.

  • Locating and Measuring your cervix is one of the best ways to figure out which size will be both easy and comfortable – click here for more details!

  • Yes. When the Venus Cup is placed correctly, it is undetectable by you or anyone else. If the stem is visible from the outside of the body, it can be trimmed down for comfort.
  • Since the Venus Cup is reusable, you will not need to carry extra menstrual protection products.
  • The Venus Cup holds much more than a tampon and you may not need to empty it as often.

It should be! If you have any discomfort with it at any time, you may need to try different folding techniques, using a water-based personal lubricant, or changing the size.

The Venus Cup is great for a light flow, heavy flow, very heavy flow, when you’re expecting your period but not bleeding yet, or even just to stay dry from discharge!

The Venus Cup won’t have the familiar odor as a rotting disposable tampon or pad. Depending on your body and blood, the Venus Cup may periodically have an odor more like the smell of “iron”. This can be resolved – check this article for more info.

Like with all menstrual cups, there is a chance of leaking. This is a very common problem among new users. It may take time and practice getting things just right, but there are some things that can be done to minimize this from happening – click here for more info!
