Venus Menstrual Cup Size Large – High Capacity for Heavy Flow – Medium to High Cervix
$19.99
In Stock
The large-sized Venus Cup is perfect for those who have a heavier flow or those who experience clotting.
The large would also be easier to reach for those who have a medium to a high cervix, or a very high cervix.
You may prefer this size if you have a light to moderate flow for the extra capacity and wearing time up to 12 hours.
The large Venus Cup has a capacity of 38ml to the air holes and 47ml to the rim. This is about 30% more than the average large sized cup and is equal to approximately 9 regular absorbency tampons.
Larger cups sometimes lose their firmness near the rim and can be difficult to open. We have included an invisible secondary rim in which the silicone is slightly thicker near the air holes, as well as an inner ring for reinforcement. Both of these features will aid in helping the cup to open after the fold is released.
Everything Needed for a Happy Period! With the purchase of the large Venus Cup, you will receive a cotton canvas storage pouch and a detailed user’s manual packed with information and illustrations – all safely packaged in a Venus Box.
The Venus Cup collects the menstrual flow instead of absorbing without interfering with the body’s pH balance or natural processes. The Venus Cup is made of 100% Medical Grade Silicone and uses Medical Grade Colorants. The Venus Cup is manufactured in the USA and in an FDA registered facility. It should be! If you have any discomfort with it at any time, you may need to try different folding techniques, using a water-based personal lubricant, or changing the size. The Venus Cup is great for a light flow, heavy flow, very heavy flow, when you’re expecting your period but not bleeding yet, or even just to stay dry from discharge! The Venus Cup won’t have the familiar odor as a rotting disposable tampon or pad. Depending on your body and blood, the Venus Cup may periodically have an odor more like the smell of “iron”. This can be resolved – check this article for more info. Like with all menstrual cups, there is a chance of leaking. This is a very common problem among new users. If you ever find it hard to reach, try squatting in the tub or shower for easier access and to bring the cup closer to the vaginal opening.
Also, if the Venus Cup ever starts to stain, soak it in a 50/50 mixture of over the counter Hydrogen Peroxide and water for an hour or so. Doing this a couple times a year should freshen the Venus Cup right up.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us at any time. We’re always here to support you.
Cheers to high capacity menstrual cups!

The narrower, small-sized Venus Cup might be more comfortable for your anatomy. However, we invite you to read through the information about cervical height if you found it too long as opposed to too wide.

It is our understanding that your current cup is very firm. Although the Venus Cup is a medium firmness, it will be a change that could need some adjustment.
Very firm cups can open without interference from the cervix. However, sometimes a very firm cup can be painful or cause irritation if it hits the cervix.
A softer cup, even one with a medium firmness like the Venus Cup, may need to open below the cervix before being positioned. Insert the cup halfway, release the fold, and then push it into place.
We hope that this helps and that you are able to utilize the capacity of the large Venus Cup. Please don’t hesitate to contact us should you need one of one support. We’re here for you!

Thank you for sharing your experience and feedback while using the large Venus Cup. Although we tried to keep the Venus Cup at a medium firmness, there are always going to be individuals who find it either too soft or too firm. We apologize that you were one of them.
If you decide to try the Venus Cup again, here are some tips that might help get the cup open.
-Let the cup open in a lower position (insert cup 1/2 way). The cervix can often prevent the rim from expanding. Then use a single finger to push the cup into place.
-Insert the cup and use a single finger to press the body into the vaginal wall. Then slowly release the pressure and allow the cup to open against your finger. A wide-body cup like the Venus Cup sometimes needs a little space to open in.
Again, we're sorry that the Venus Cup didn't work for you from the start but we're pleased to hear that you have other cups that are perfect for you.
Please don't hesitate to contact us directly for one on one support. We're here to help.

In the meantime, if you decide to give the large Venus Cup another try, you can turn it inside out to see if that feels more comfortable as long as you are sure that you can remove it without a stem. This will make the cup shorter and narrower, while also relieving some of the pressure (firmness). Please don’t hesitate to contact us directly for one on one support should you want to try again.

If you’re inclined to try it again at a later date, you can turn the cup inside out to see if it relieves the extra pressure. The cup is safe to use this way as long as you can still reach it for removal. Perhaps you can still take advantage of the size and capacity.
If you have any other questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly. We’re always here for one on one support.

If you feel inclined to try it again, there are some helpful tips in the user manual, as well as Troubleshooting - Venus Menstrual Cup, but here are three methods to getting a softer cup to open:
-A common issue when a cup (any cup) is inserted completely, is that the cervix gets in the way of allowing the rim to fully expand. It can also push the cervix to the side which will cause leaking. Wiggling or rocking the cup down will let your cervix correct itself. Then use a finger to push it back up into place.
-Insert the cup halfway, let it open, and then use a finger to push it into place.
-Insert the cup then use a finger to press it against the vagainal wall to create a space for the cup to expand. Slowly release the pressure from the cup and let it open again your finger.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us directly should you need support. We’re here to help :)
If all else fails, we hope that you can find a cup with the capacity and firmness that you’re looking for even if it’s not the Venus Cup.

The diva cup was ALWAYS leaking and after using it for 2-3 cycles it won’t even pop open for me, no matter how I fold it, or how I situate myself. Their customer service answer? I need to see a pelvic floor specialist. WTF?
This Venus cup has worked great every time I’ve used it! I have a super heavy flow and usually have to wear a back up pad overnight the first day or two, but it doesn’t leak any other time.
I just threw away my diva cup and bought another Venus cup to have on hand in case anything happens to this one!
Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed experience while using the large Venus Cup. We're pleased that it has been easy and comfortable but we're sorry to hear that you still experience some leaking when your period is at its heaviest. Thank you for sharing your experience while using the large Venus Cup. I’m happy to hear that it was easy to use and that it was able to withstand your heavy flow days.
With changes in our bodies and blood, a cup may start to take on a smell after a while. If this ever happens, give it a good wash and set it out to dry by a sunny window. The fresh air will allow all the moisture to evaporate and the sun will help keep it white.
Please feel free to contact us directly should you ever need support. We’re always here to help.

*Pro User Tip: Although the Venus Cup holds more than the average menstrual cup in either size, if you need to empty your cup in public, a couple of pH balanced wet wipes stored in a pocket or bag, will help you freshen up before leaving the stall.
I'm sorry that you didn't have a very good experience with the large Venus Cup. Although we tried to design it so that it was easy to reach for individuals with a high cervix, it may still be out of reach for users with a very high cervix.
If you choose to give the Venus Cup another try, make sure that you are inserting and positioning it correctly. The cervix isn't normally located straight up, but more slanted to the back (near the rectum). In a squatting position, aim the folded cup down and back towards the tailbone. This will place the cup in a better position near the cervix. To remove the cup, squat and bear down with your pelvic floor muscles to bring it closer to the vaginal opening. It may need a series of pushes until it's low enough.
If you still have issues with locating the cup, you may want to look for one specifically designed for a high cervix. These tend to be longer and/or have a longer stem.
Again, I'm sorry that the Venus Cup wasn't your perfect cup right from the start. Please don't hesitate to contact me directly if you decide to try it again and would like one on one support.

I'm sorry to hear that you didn't have a pleasant experience with the large Venus Cup. Please remember that cups are NOT one-size-fits-all. This may have contributed to it being hard to use or uncomfortable.
If you choose to give the Venus Cup another try, make sure that you are inserting and positioning it correctly. Although the user manual has some inserting tips, I'll share a couple here that may be helpful:

Thank you for taking a moment to share your detailed experience while using the large Venus Cup. Indeed, the large size is a bit longer and has a rounded base compared to the tapered point on the Duchess, but we’re pleased to hear that in the end the Venus Cup was fairly easy to adjust to.
