The Venus Cup collects the menstrual flow instead of absorbing without interfering with the body’s pH balance or natural processes.

The Venus Cup is made of 100% Medical Grade Silicone and uses Medical Grade Colorants.

The Venus Cup is designed in the USA and manufactured in the PRC at an FDA-registered facility (3012929415). Each cup is carefully inspected before being sealed, packaged, and shipped. We spared no expense in partnering with a reputable manufacturer to ensure the highest quality standards for our product.

  • Locating and Measuring your cervix is one of the best ways to figure out which size will be both easy and comfortable – click here for more details!
  • You may also choose a size based on your menstrual flow needs. If you're unsure, we recommend trying the starter kit so you can test both sizes and determine which provides maximum comfort and protection. Many users even use both sizes on different days and times of their period according to their menstrual flow.

  • Yes. When the Venus Cup is placed correctly, it is undetectable by you or anyone else. If the stem is visible from the outside of the body, it can be trimmed down for comfort.
  • Since the Venus Cup is reusable, you will not need to carry extra menstrual protection products.
  • The Venus Cup holds much more than a tampon and you may not need to empty it as often.

It should be! If you have any discomfort with it at any time, you may need to try different folding techniques, using a water-based personal lubricant, or changing the size.

The Venus Cup is great for a light flow, heavy flow, very heavy flow, when you’re expecting your period but not bleeding yet, or even just to stay dry from discharge!

The Venus Cup won’t have the familiar odor as a rotting disposable tampon or pad. Depending on your body and blood, the Venus Cup may periodically have an odor more like the smell of “iron”. This can be resolved – check this article for more info.

Like with all menstrual cups, there is a chance of leaking. This is a very common problem among new users. It may take time and practice getting things just right, but there are some things that can be done to minimize this from happening – click here for more info!

Everything under the moon and sun! The Venus Cup will allow you the freedom to carry on with your daily activities whether it be school, work, sports, or sleeping!

Alright, I know that headline was cheesy, but I'm serious. It took me a minute to get used to it and figure out what was right and what I needed to do. In the beginning, I was so sure that I was a small because of how tiny I am, but I had to get a large because I noticed that my moves around while it's up there and that's not comfortable. So if you just starting out, get the starter pack and do not assume. It will save you money if you turn out like me. After I felt comfortable using it, my periods were so much simpler. The other night I almost forgot to take it out to clean it and re-insert it but I didn't have to because my period ended. Anyways, I'm never using a tampon again. I might keep using pads at night even though I don't have to because my cup would be fine. I could change it every 10 hours and even push it longer if need be and I wouldn't leak. I don't thin it' like that for everyone that's just my flow. So, when I say that, don't assume it will be the same for you. Just wear it and figure that out for yourself.

Took me a bit to get it but happy I stayed with it! Feels so much better than a tampon, I have discovered I have a very low lady bits which makes these cups slightly harder to use, yet if you get your timing right there no accidental leaks plus more comfortable. These are a good entry cup definitely not the final stop.

This is my Goldilocks cup. I tried another brand for a year and had leaks every cycle. I almost gave up on cups when someone suggested this one. The longer length and higher capacity are perfect for my exceptionally heavy days and large clots. I was a little concerned that with the bigger capacity I would have trouble with bladder pressure but it’s actually better than with my previous cup. I finally think I may be able to stop wearing pads in combination! I am SO happy with this cup.

I love it! This is my second cycle using a menstrual cup. For reference, I’m 27, had 2 kids by c section, and I have a heavy flow that usually lasts 3 days and requires use of thick pads, super-only tampons, and period panties at the same time. The cup advertisements always say that periods don’t product much volume, but lies! In hindsight after using a cup, I realize now that I seem to have quite a heavy flow. I always wondered why my friend only owns teeny tampons and panty liners... anyways!I purchased a duchess pair of cups because they were cheap, admittedly. I liked the silicone, it agrees with my pH and balance MUCH more than pads and tampons. However, with the 15mL capacity of those, I had to empty them out every 2-4 hours. I could not sleep the night without leaking.I paid the price for the Venus because I saw that the large carried 30mL. The body is more firm, so the popping open is much easier. My cervix is relatively high, so the longer body of the cup fits much nicer, I notice less leakage. I’m still working on the placement and I feel it’ll be leak free. The handle is much easier to grab. I can actually only need to empty it every 6-8 hours! The times I’ve emptied, it was about 25mL. The quality of the silicone is nicer. It feels silky smooth compared to the duchess. Since using them both for the exact same amount of time, the venus has a nicer material that doesn’t get splotchy. It stays silky looking.” I like the bell shape because it has more side surface area and seems to protect against leaks.

Hello!

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience and positive review. We're very happy to hear that the Venus Cup was easy to use, comfortable, and held up to your heavy flow. You'll be amazed to hear, but the large Venus Cup holds 47 ml to the rim. It's the second to the highest capacity on the market without adding and extreme length or diameter. We're pretty proud of that :)

Also, thank you for the comparison to a well know cup such as the Dutchess. It's nice to know that our quality and design are noticed.

We have some great tips, tricks, and troubleshooting for leaking in the user manual. They might help you achieve a leak-free period. If you need further support, please contact us directly. The Venus Cup Team will do their best to troubleshoot with you.

Until then, we wish happy periods!

The Venus Large is my hands down new favorite! If you are looking for a medium firm, high capacity cup, look no further! I am a long time cup user, I have a couple other high capacity cups. The Venus cup blows them out of the water. I added a picture of what comes in the box. The second photo is a side by side with my previous fav cup, the Yuuki Soft large. Comparing the Venus to the Yuuki, the Venus is about the same firmness (maybe slightly firmer), which is quite firm - about 3.5 out of 5. The silicone is very silky to the touch. It popped open easily & I had no problems getting a good seal. On the heaviest days of my cycle, I would get about 8 hours wear time with my Yuuki. I actually made it the full 12 hours with the Venus. I just can't say enough good things!

I did substantial research before deciding to purchase this cup. I'm not new to using a cup. I have a very heavy flow so I was super excited to find a cup with such a large capacity. The small cup was comfortable right after insertion; even without trimming the stem. It was like not having anything, but it did slide down a bit after wearing it for a little while. No matter how many times I reinserted it. When my flow got heavier, I switched to the larger size. Getting it in was fine, but after standing up and walking around a bit...it was just so uncomfortable and painful. I tried reinserting it in different positions hoping not would help, but it just made it worse to the point where it was unbearable and I HAD to remove it. It also made my cramps a little worse. It's a quality product, for sure. Maybe this one just isn't meant for my body type. I don't think the 'bell' shape works for me. I'm not disappointed in the product at all. Just kinda bummed it didn't work out. If I could just wear the small one, that would be great. But unfortunately, I'd be in the restroom every 2 hours. Lol.

We're happy to hear that you were pleased with the quality of the Venus Cup. We were very diligent in finding the correct material and manufacturer to produce our product.

On the other note, we're sorry that the Venus Cup was too soft for your toned PFM. Although we tried to add back some firmness with the invisible secondary rim and an inner re-enforcing ring (large), we understand that it may still be too soft for some.

Hello!

I'm sorry to hear that the large Venus Cup was too soft for you. Within our study group, a good portion of the testers experienced some extra pressure from the Diva Cups rim. Our design reflected that by thinning out the secondary rim and adding an inner ring instead. Although the firmness is not drastically different, we're sorry to hear that the change did not work out for you.

If you are willing to try the Venus Cup again, check the user manual or our website for some tips on troubleshooting softer cups. Something might be helpful within them.

You are also welcome to contact us directly for one on one support or some extra tips and tricks.

Even if the Venus Cup does not work out for you in the end, we're happy to hear that you still have reliable menstrual protection with the Diva Cup.

I've been using cups for nearly a decade now, and I like to try new brands as there's been a lot of change in product offerings over the years. I work 14-16 hour days, and my commute is sometimes 2-3 hours long. I don't always have access to a bathroom, and even if I do, I don't always want to look like I've been in surgery for hours (sorry to be gross, but that's the truth) and then having to wash & disinfect my hands like crazy several times a day at work or on the run. The only cup that was worthwhile for heavy bleeding was Super Jennie but the stem drives me nuts, so I was looking for a replacement.I saw the Venus and thought I'd give it a try. I was quite skeptical - many brands say "for heavy bleeding" and yeah, they don't last more than a few hours. This blew away my expectations. I was astounded how I was able to get through most of the day without having to switch it out. The suction is really remarkable (albeit, this could scare off beginners, I get it!) and the fit is phenomenal. I just wish it came in more than one colour (note to manufacturer: MORE COLOURS!)The only caveat is: the large cup is probably NOT ideal for beginners/someone new to cups. Thank you so much for sharing your detailed experience with us. It sounds like you have very busy days and we're happy to hear that the Venus Cup gets you through (most of) it. For now, the Venus Cup holds the 2nd place for the highest capacity cup on the market. However, we're not too far off and we believe the shape and size might be a little less intimidating.

We also loved the Super Jennie for its capacity but wanted an option that was easier to reach.

We're working on more colors, including a clear cup for those who rather not have any colorant at all. Those will hopefully be available in the near future.

Thank you for sharing the tip about new users to get comfortable with the small cup first. It's one of the reasons we felt a Starter Kit was necessary.

Again, we appreciate that you took the time to share your experience and we hope that the Venus Cup continues to be your preferred menstrual management product.

Cheers!

I honestly loved the Large Venus Cup, for my heaviest days. I definitely had to practice with it before my period, to find the right fold and tricks to help it open. Once I figured it out, I found it to be comfortable with no leaks, and it was so much easier to reach and break the seal to take out. I do have a slightly slower urine stream at times, but I usually just have to give a little adjustment and then it is all fine. I highly recommend for those with a higher cervix and who need a higher capacity cup.

Sarah,

Thank you for sharing your experience while using the large Venus Cup. We’re pleased to learn that you were able to use it easily and comfortably after some practice and adjustments. If the slower urine stream continues to cause you issues and you’re comfortable removing your cup without a stem, you are welcome to turn the cup inside out for a slightly narrower diameter and less pressure.

Please feel free to contact us directly for more tips and tricks if you wish.

All our best,

My cramps kill me with every cycle. Switching to this cup has made a WORLD of difference for me. I presume it's because there isn't a cotton wad (tampon) in there drying everything out anymore. If you suffer from cramps during menstruation, I HIGHLY recommend switching to a cup like this. It's comfortable, and I only have to rinse/think about it before I go to bed, and when I wake up in the morning. It's amazing! I'm a light-medium bleeder, and I've never had kids. No leaks, and both cup sizes fit fine for me. It's also kind of nice that the cups have little measurement markers on them so you can ACTUALLY SEE just how much you're bleeding (great for tracking, Dr's, etc). 10/10, would recommend this product to anybody. Super easy to use.

Thank you for recommending the Venus Cup, Molly! We’re pleased to learn that it has helped keep your cramps at bay. We can still vividly remember the unpleasant feeling of a dry, scratchy, tampon and don’t wish that on anyone.

We would also like to thank you for mentioning that both sizes were comfortable for you even though you haven’t had children. Far too many individuals believe that the large can’t be used unless they gave birth. It simply isn’t true and you are a good example of it.

We appreciate you for sharing your experience. Please reach out to us directly should you ever have any questions. We’re always here to support you.

I know this might be TMI, but here we go. The cup works great. I used the small and gave the large to my mother. I've used it for two times. It doesn't leak, and it's not messy like I thought it would be. It's extremely convenient more than tampons. If Im out I just rinse it with water and put it back in. At first I had some issues with inserting it, I'm not sure if its because i've never inserted something larger than a tampon before in my life haha. It hurt a little at first, but with more practice it goes in easily. It hurt because my skin on the outside of my vagina like this little piece of skin idk what its called but now it doesn't. So if you're a virgin or scared of it might hurting you, you don't need to worry just use the small! Once the cup is inside, I almost forget about it. It doesn't hurt me, it doesn't leak, and I've gone worked out and have gone swimming while wearing it. It's great I HIGHLY recommend it! The package it came in was completely sealed.

We appreciate that you mentioned using the Venus Cup with no prior insertion experience other than a tampon. You’re a great example of how a new cup user can have success. We couldn’t be more grateful that you took a chance on our alternative option.

Best wishes to you and your mother on many years of comfortable period protection.

We’re sorry to hear that you’re not having a perfect experience with the Venus Cup Kit, but appreciate that you took the time to leave us some feedback.

Here are a few tips that may help ensure that the cup is fully expanded:

- The cervix is not normally located straight up. Instead, insert the folded cup down and back towards your tailbone while in a squat on the ground. This will help put the cup in a better position under or around your cervix.

- If the cup will not open, try wiggling it down a bit and then use a finger to push it back into place. Often when a cup is inserted completely, the cervix is in the way of letting the rim expand. Wiggling it down will let the cervix correct itself.

- You can also insert the cup half way, let it expand (below the cervix) and then use a finger to push it up into place.

- After the cup is in position, try pinching the base a few times to force air out and create a seal.

- Give the stem (or base of the cup) a gentle tug to make sure that there is a slight resistance. If the cup slides easily, either the rim is not open completely or it did not create a good seal. You will need to readjust by inserting your finger and swiping the cup to the side or pinching the base a few more times.

The large Venus Cup holds 38 ml to the air holes and 47 ml to the rim which is approximately 30% more than the average large-sized menstrual cup on the market. Depending on how low your cervix rests inside of the cup will determine how much capacity is available. This is the same with any menstrual cup on the market and will vary from one person to the next. Although this is normally sufficient to hold a cup user for at least 8 hours during a heavy flow, there are some users who need to empty their cups sooner.

The key to emptying a menstrual cup away from home is to be prepared.

- Empty the cup before you leave the house so that you start with full capacity.

- Empty the cup at a set time before it is full to minimize spillovers and reduce mess.

- If you do not have access to a private toilet with a sink, pack a few wet wipes or a wet cloth in a pocket or bag to clean yourself and hands. You can also dampen a couple of paper towels (do not flush them) if the facility provides them, before entering a toilet stall.

I hope that these tips help. If you still find that your cup overflows during your daily outings, cloth pads or period underwear may be a good option for backup.

I don't want to create excess waste so I picked this after reading many reviews. I'm 26 and haven't had kids but the large one was so painful I couldn't even keep it in for more than 5 seconds each time... I don't see how anyone uses these without some type of lubricant. I've tried the small one many ways and it just won't open up all the way so it won't create a proper seal and it leaks. It also irritates because the rubbery material is thick and keeps rubbing on my skin and has left a raw "rug burn" from going in an out... I also have a hard time grabbing and pulling the wand and had it tear off... The silicone is very sturdy but just too thick for me. I'm going to have to try a different method

Hi D Lee,

Thank you for sharing your experience while using both the small and large Venus Cup. We appreciate the feedback even though the cups didn’t work for you. We’re sorry to hear that the large wasn’t comfortable and that you had problems getting the smaller cup to open.

Here are some tips that might help:

1. The cervix is not typically located straight up. Former tampon users will often insert a cup in the same position which may prevent the cup from opening correctly. Instead, from a squatting position, aim the folded cup back and down towards the tailbone.

2. If the cup is inserted all the way before the fold is released, the cervix may be blocking the rim from expanding. Insert the cup half way, allow it to open, and then use a single finger to push it into place.

3. Once the cup is in the correct position, give the stem a gentle tug. You want to feel a slight resistance which means the cup has created a seal. If it slides easily, it’s possible that the cup is not positioned correctly or that the rim has not expanded.

Once you are able to insert and position the cup, it won’t be a hard task and the rubbing will be a thing of the past. Using lubricant during the learning phase will help but won’t always be needed thereafter.

If the cup feels uncomfortable or too long, you may want to check the height of your cervix.

https://venuscup.com/cervix/

Even though the small Venus Cup is shorter than the large, it could still be too long for a low or very low cervix.

We’re sorry to hear that you’re having issues with the Venus Cup Kit. It can take some practice to get over the learning curve and we understand how incredibly frustrating it can be. It sounds as though the large Venus Cup is too wide for your comfort. The small should feel more comfortable once you master it. Hopefully the following tips will help:

- The cervix is not normally located straight up. Instead, insert the folded cup down and back towards your tailbone while in a squat on the ground. This will help put the cup in a better position under or around your cervix.

- If the cup will not open, try wiggling it down a bit and then use a finger to push it back into place. Often when a cup is inserted completely, the cervix is in the way of letting the rim expand. Wiggling it down will let the cervix correct itself.

You will need to readjust by inserting your finger and swiping the cup to the side or pinching the base a few more times.

If you’ve been practicing for a while and your skin starts to get irritated, it’s time to take a break. I know you want this to work, but being frustrated and full of determination can make it worse. Our bodies will tense up without us realizing. Maybe try again during your next period with a fresh start.

If the stem is causing issues, you can trim it down until you can’t feel it but at a length that you can still reach it during removal.

To date, we have not received any complaints about the stem tearing off. It concerns us. We would be grateful if you could contact us directly with photos. We would like to share them with our manufacturer to ensure that it doesn’t happen again.

If you would like some one on one support, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We’re always here for support.

This was the 2nd menstrual cup I tried. I have a high cervix so initially I bought the Lily cup, but I didn't like the poking firm stem or the fact that it didn't have air holes making breaking the seal complicated and painful. The Venus cup changed all this. I've only used the small cup so far. Its stem is long and flexible making it easy to find and providing a good grip. Breaking the seal was easily achieved every time just by pinching the bottom of the cup. This made removing the cup fast and less stressful. I use a dab of lubricant to facilitate insertion and as soon as I pass the pelvic bone the cup always fully opens. No leaks for 12 hrs even on high flow days. Very comfortable. I can't feel it once in place. That means I can completely forget about my period for 12 hrs. Wish I had heard about menstrual cups sooner. Don't think I will try the large cup included in the set since the small one works so well for me.

It definitely does what it's supposed to do. I had one issue where I had the bigger cup inside of me for the heavier flow and for some reason, I don't know if it was because of how I was sitting or what, I started to leak pretty heavily over the cup even though it had been staying secure for a few hours. Thank you for sharing your experience while using the large Venus Cup. We’re pleased to hear that you’re satisfied with the performance of our cup even after the single mishap and sometimes having uncomfortable removals.

Make sure that the cup is positioned correctly by aiming the folded cup back and down towards your tailbone while inserting. After the fold is released, use a finger to feel around the cup’s body for any indentations or if the cervix has been pushed to the side. If either are present, wiggle the cup down and then push it back into place.

As for removal, most people who experience discomfort notice that it is when the cup is just about totally removed. If this is when you start feeling uncomfortable, use your thumb to press down on the side of the cup as it exits. It could possibly be the rim dragging against the urethra.

If you have any other concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly for one on one support. We would love to help you have a more pleasant experience.

This is my second cycle using these cups and I really like them! I bought the combo pack as I’m new to menstrual cups and wasn’t sure what size I’d need. I’ve been using the small more as I seem to have a lower cervix. Because of this I had to trim the stem completely off so that it wouldn’t poke me. It’s been very comfortable and while I can feel some light “pressure” while wearing it’s nothing too uncomfortable. It’s honestly the same sensation I get when using a super tampon.I do hope they come out with a version for shorter cervix, but I’ll keep using this till they do!I don’t think I will ever go back to tampons unless I get a surprise visit and have nothing else available.

Iam from India and bought this cup through my my relative as Iam a heavy bleeder I choose this cup for its holding capacity and Iam a cup user for past 2yrs so Iam familer with almost all folds but this cup it's very difficult to insert and check for seal...usually I twist 360 degree to check the seal but when twisting in this cup it's paining and burning like hell and no fold it comfortable for me yet though the suction is good but removal is another hell...the holding capacity is high but what's the use in that without giving comfort?????will try this for 2-3 cycles if not good I need to throw it only.... feeling disappointed

First of all, thank you for giving the Venus Cup a try even from so far away. We’re sorry to hear that it was not all that you hoped for. We understand that the Venus Cup will not be for everyone but we hope that you will give it another try. The Venus Cup has a wider base to allow for the extra capacity without adding more length or overall diameter. It may need some getting used to if your previous cup or cups were “V”-shaped. Inserting a single finger to feel around the cup body may be more comfortable than trying to spin it from the base.

If you’re experiencing pain during removal, collapse the body slightly as the rim nears the entrance to the vagina. It may be rubbing against the urethra on its way out.

Please feel free to contact us for one on one support. We’re here to help.

In the end, if the Venus Cup is still not right for you, we hope that you find another cup that meets your needs even if it isn’t our cup.

Best wishes,

The Venus Cup Team

I have a really heavy menstrual flow the first few days of my period (my mother said she did too, guess it's a genetic thing). Tampons are pretty much useless with heavy flow, wearing an overnight pad during the day is ridiculously bulky and uncomfortable. Menstrual cups can hold a lot between changes, so I decided to give them a go.I've tried the DivaCup that I found at the local drugstore, but then I saw this Venus Cup that can hold more. The DivaCup has more of a V shape, whereas the Venus Cup is more of a U shape, which gives the Venus Cup more capacity. I thought it might feel uncomfortable with the U shape, but it's not, it sits up high enough where you don't know it's there and it's got a nice soft silicone material. It definitely suctions in place to prevent any leaks. I got the Venus Cup Starter Kit so I could try both sizes, but so far I've just used the larger size and it's worked fine. The cups come with nice canvas-type bags to store them in, and I received a booklet that has detailed instructions, FAQ and even troubleshooting tips. That's super awesome for a first-timer--honestly, after looking through the booklet, you'll pretty much be an expert on menstrual cups--it's that amazingly useful.Since I've used a menstrual cup before, I personally didn't even need the instructions-- just opened the box, rinsed off the cup, and popped it in no problem--but again, I'd used a menstrual cup before. The first time I'd ever tried using a menstrual cup was a different story! The main things I need from a menstrual cup are large holding capacity with no leaks and that the cup is comfortable. I also want the cup to last a long time so that it pays for itself with the money I don't spend on pads or tampons. This is made from high-quality silicone that can stand up to boiling, so I get the feeling it's going to last a long time (booklet says it could last 10 or more years). Also, the Venus Cup material has a purple color that stays true, unlike the clear DivaCup that starts turning yellow after one or two uses. What else can I add? Oh, the shipping was very fast, I received it 2 days after ordering (on a Saturday) even though I don't have Amazon Prime. It works for me and is comfortable, so I can highly recommend the Venus Cup if you are searching for a menstrual cup to buy.

Thank you for sharing all of these wonderful, first-time user, details!

We understand how it is with heavy periods. Tampons PLUS a pad weren’t very convenient, cost effective, or comfortable for us either. And although the DivaCup is a trustworthy brand, it just didn’t cut it for our flow. We designed the Venus Cup for individuals like you in mind.

We’re also grateful of the mention about our user manual. We worked hard to get it just right for new cup users, but wanted to have some information that avid users might learn from, too.

We hope that the large Venus Cup continues to provide you with easy and comfortable period protection. Please reach out to us if you ever have questions or concerns. We’ll be here to support you.

All of our best,

Extremely soft
This cup is very comfortable but a little too soft for my personal preference. It doesn't open as easily as firmer cups.

We’re sorry that the small Venus Cup didn’t have the firmness that you were hoping for. It’s always a hit or miss regarding firmness from one user to the next. While we tried to keep the firmness a medium to appease a majority of cup users, it’s always going to be too soft or too firm for some. We’re just sorry that you were one of them. We’re confident that you will find something that suits your needs even if it isn’t the Venus Cup.

After trying a few drugstore brands with limited success and more than a little discomfort, I decided to upgrade to the Venus since it's supposed to last for up to 10 years. So far, it has exceeded my expectations and I doubt that I'll ever go back to disposable products.Let's start with the packaging, which isn't all that important in the big scheme of things, but I went "Oooh!" when I opened my envelope from Amazon because the box is actually pretty! I got a little excited because package quality often kind of gives a preview of what's inside and after trying so many cups with mixed results I really wanted to like this one. Anyway, the pretty purple box is a bit bigger than I thought it would be. In fact, I was kind of worried that the cup would be too large. But inside the box is a nice user guide, along with a storage bag for the cup. The storage bag is a nice touch and it was a surprise since I didn't notice it mentioned in the product description. The cup itself doesn't take up a lot of space inside the box.On to the Venus cup itself:Feel - The cup is made with soft silicone, but it doesn't feel at all floppy if that makes sense. At the same time, it is very easy to fold using a few different techniques outlined in the instructions so you can keep a grip on it and prevent it from opening too soon. Also, I use a little bit of KY just on the cup's rim to help it slide all the way up and around the cervix. The rim is firm enough to pop fully open. You can kind of feel how it snaps into place once you release your grip on it. So, I didn't have any trouble getting the Venus into position on the first try, but I'm not new to menstrual cups. It's nice that the guide includes some troubleshooting tips, I'm sure I'm not the only one who had to practice a few times when first learning how to use a menstrual cup!The Venus cup has measurements on the inside instead of the outside, and there are no rough edges anywhere. I am not experiencing any discomfort or irritation even though the cup fits firmly in place. I got the small size and I'm not feeling any pressure on my bladder, which was an issue with another brand I tried.I've just been going about my business as usual, and I'm not noticing any problems with this cup. For example, I'm not feeling any shifting when I laugh or sneeze, and it stayed in place while I was at the gym.Leaks - Leaking has not been an issue but I am still going to wear period panties for a backup in case I have an overflow or if I tuck it in incorrectly in the future.Removal - It is really easy to get this cup out thanks to the stem. You do have to give a little tug to break the seal between the ring and your anatomy, and I've had to give a bit of a push with my pelvic muscles as well. This is really no problem, way easy and far cleaner than some others. I have tried the "flat fit" menstrual cups before and had a really hard time getting them out, plus they were really messy in comparison with this one. The stem and the rest of the cup's structure do a good job of keeping "Aunt Flo" contained during the removal process. You don't have to dig around to find it, and you don't end up with a "crime scene" all over the toilet. Emptying is easy too.Capacity - As for capacity, I read that you can keep this cup in place for 12 hours but I haven't left it in that long. I did leave it in overnight (about 9 hours) and it still had room when I removed it.All things considered, I'm very happy with this cup and I really hope it lasts the full 10 years. Venus did a great job with the design, thanks!

Hi Morgan,

Thank you for sharing a wealth of information about your initial thoughts and your experience while using the small Venus Cup. We’re honored that you decided to try our cup after using a few more well-known brands off the shelf. We worked really hard on putting together a user manual that was detailed for the new users. But we also wanted to include some information that avid users, like yourself, could still find something new. Thank you for appreciating that.

We couldn’t be more pleased to learn that you had an easy time inserting and removing the Venus Cup, as well as a comfortable period throughout. We hope that it becomes one of your favorite menstrual management products for many years.

Cheers!
