Venus Menstrual Cup Size Large – High Capacity for Heavy Flow – Medium to High Cervix
$27.99
In Stock
The large-sized Venus Cup is perfect for those who have a heavier flow or those who experience clotting.
The large would also be easier to reach for those who have a medium to a high cervix, or a very high cervix.
You may prefer this size if you have a light to moderate flow for the extra capacity and wearing time up to 12 hours.
The large Venus Cup has a capacity of 38ml to the air holes and 47ml to the rim. This is about 30% more than the average large sized cup and is equal to approximately 9 regular absorbency tampons.
Larger cups sometimes lose their firmness near the rim and can be difficult to open. We have included an invisible secondary rim in which the silicone is slightly thicker near the air holes, as well as an inner ring for reinforcement. Both of these features will aid in helping the cup to open after the fold is released.
Everything Needed for a Happy Period! With the purchase of the large Venus Cup, you will receive a cotton canvas storage pouch and a detailed user’s manual packed with information and illustrations – all safely packaged in a Venus Box.
The Venus Cup collects the menstrual flow instead of absorbing without interfering with the body’s pH balance or natural processes. The Venus Cup is made of 100% Medical Grade Silicone and uses Medical Grade Colorants. The Venus Cup is manufactured in the USA and in an FDA registered facility. It should be! If you have any discomfort with it at any time, you may need to try different folding techniques, using a water-based personal lubricant, or changing the size. The Venus Cup is great for a light flow, heavy flow, very heavy flow, when you’re expecting your period but not bleeding yet, or even just to stay dry from discharge! The Venus Cup won’t have the familiar odor as a rotting disposable tampon or pad. Depending on your body and blood, the Venus Cup may periodically have an odor more like the smell of “iron”. This can be resolved – check this article for more info. Like with all menstrual cups, there is a chance of leaking. This is a very common problem among new users. It may take time and practice getting things just right, but there are some things that can be done to minimize this from happening – click here for more info! Everything under the moon and sun! As for your slight leaking issue, try wiping the stem and base of the cup after it’s inserted. Sometimes excess blood will cause spotting.

It is our understanding that your current cup is very firm. Although the Venus Cup is a medium firmness, it will be a change that could need some adjustment.
Very firm cups can open without interference from the cervix. However, sometimes a very firm cup can be painful or cause irritation if it hits the cervix.
A softer cup, even one with a medium firmness like the Venus Cup, may need to open below the cervix before being positioned. Insert the cup halfway, release the fold, and then push it into place.
We hope that this helps and that you are able to utilize the capacity of the large Venus Cup. Please don’t hesitate to contact us should you need one of one support. We’re here for you!
Best wishes,
The Venus Cup Team
In the meantime, if you decide to give the large Venus Cup another try, you can turn it inside out to see if that feels more comfortable as long as you are sure that you can remove it without a stem. This will make the cup shorter and narrower, while also relieving some of the pressure (firmness). Please don’t hesitate to contact us directly for one on one support should you want to try again.

Thank you for taking a few minutes to share your experience and feedback while using the large Venus Cup. We’re happy to hear that overall it was comfortable to use and had a large capacity for your flow.
However, we’re sorry that you found it sometimes difficult to unfold and that the stem was too soft.
There are some helpful tips in the user manual, as well as Troubleshooting - Venus Menstrual Cup, but this might help also:
A common issue when a cup (any cup) is inserted completely, is that the cervix gets in the way of allowing the rim to fully expand. It can also push the cervix to the side which will cause leaking. Wiggling or rocking the cup down will let your cervix correct itself. Then use a finger to push it back up into place.
Alternatively, you can insert the cup halfway, let it open, and then use a finger to push it into place.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us directly should you need support. We’re here to help :)

Thank you for sharing your experience with the large Venus Cup. Indeed switching to a menstrual cup can be nerve-racking, but I'm pleased to hear that you were able to get over the learning curve quickly. I'm also happy to hear that it gave you at least a little more time and that you didn't have any leaking or odors.
It sounds as though you are doing just fine, but please don't hesitate to contact me directly should you need any support.
Best wishes,

*Pro User Tip: Although the Venus Cup holds more than the average menstrual cup in either size, if you need to empty your cup in public, a couple of pH balanced wet wipes stored in a pocket or bag, will help you freshen up before leaving the stall.

Thank you for sharing your feedback and experience while using the large Venus Cup. I'm sorry that it felt a little too thick. We designed the rim to be a little thicker for easy opening, but we understand that it might be uncomfortable for some users. If you don't have any problems removing the cup without a stem, you can try turning the cup inside out to make it slightly narrower. It's safe to use and might make it more comfortable.
Other than that, I'm happy to hear that it can stand up to your heavy flow and that you get a good night's rest.
Best wishes. Stay well.

Thank you for all of the wonderful details of your experience with the large Venus Cup. Although the Venus Cup is about the same length and diameter of other large-sized menstrual cups, the body keeps that diameter to the base of the cup instead of tapering to a point. This is the feature that allows our cup to have a higher capacity. Indeed, it won't be the cup for everyone, since no cup is "one size fits all".
We also would like to thank you for sharing your thoughts on the firmness. It's always hard to gauge how soft or firm cup is since everyone has a different perception of the feeling even if you are comparing it to a well known brand. Some users do the same comparison and say that the Venus Cup is softer. I don't think anyone will know exactly how soft or firm it will be for them unless they feel it first hand, but it's always good to have feedback.
If the large Venus Cup feels too wide or firm, you can try turning it inside out to see if it feels more comfortable. It's safe to use like this as long as you can remove the cup without the stem.
Either way, we're happy to hear that it at least gets you a good night's rest for your heavy days.
Although you're an experience user, please don't hesitate to contact us directly should you need one on one support.

Thank you for sharing your experience with the large Venus Cup. We're happy to hear that it has been fairly easy to use, comfortable to wear, and has the capacity that you were hoping for. However, we're sorry to hear that the surface of the silicone is so smooth that it doesn't allow you to get a good grip on it. I hope that it gets easier over time.
Until then, please don't hesitate to contact us directly should you need any support.
Cheers to leak-free periods!

I'm sorry that your experience with the large Venus Cup was not 100% perfect. It sounds like it was able to hold your flow, but inserting and removing it should not be this difficult when a cup is right for you.
If you're willing to give it another try, here are some tips that will hopefully help:
Inserting:
- Make sure to aim the folded cup down and back towards your tailbone (while squatting on the ground or in the tub). This will help your cup be in the best possible position just under or around your cervix. When it creates a slight seal, it should not move around.
- If the cup doesn't want to expand, rock the cup down a bit before pushing it back into place. Often when a cup is inserted all the way, the cervix will block the rim from opening completely.
Removing:
- If you're having difficulties reaching the cup, squat and bear down with your muscles (doing this in the tub will make for easy clean-up). This will push the cup down so that you can reach the stem or base a little easier.
- If you're stamping or having some spotting, squat down after inserting the cup and wipe the stem and base of any excess blood.
You mentioned that this is a new or kind of new cup for you. Please understand that there may be a learning curve until you are comfortable with using it even if you've used other cups before.
Since the Venus Cup can hold you over for a good amount of time without a leak, we hope that in the end you won't have to think about how to insert or remove it.
Please don't hesitate to contact us directly should you need one on one support. We're always here for you.
Otherwise, thank you for giving the Venus Cup a try. Again, we're sorry that it wasn't the right cup for you but appreciate that you understand that a single cup isn't for every user.
Best Wishes. Stay well.
