The large-sized Venus Cup is perfect for those who have a heavier flow or those who experience clotting.

The large would also be easier to reach for those who have a medium to a high cervix, or a very high cervix.

You may prefer this size if you have a light to moderate flow for the extra capacity and wearing time up to 12 hours.

The large Venus Cup has a capacity of 38ml to the air holes and 47ml to the rim. This is about 30% more than the average large sized cup and is equal to approximately 9 regular absorbency tampons.

Larger cups sometimes lose their firmness near the rim and can be difficult to open.  We have included an invisible secondary rim in which the silicone is slightly thicker near the air holes, as well as an inner ring for reinforcement. Both of these features will aid in helping the cup to open after the fold is released.

    I was very skeptical when I first purchased the large cup. I have a very heavy period and have always needed an ultra Tampax Pearl as well as a pad for leaks. I also struggle from standing up or getting out of a pool and you can probably figure out the rest. I have been telling everyone I know about this product! I was so sure I would have to change it often, but even with being so heavy it handled my flow with no leaks! I was finally able to sleep all night without setting an alarm to change tampons. Here is the best part...I just got back from a Waterpark with my family during one of my heavy days. Not only did I not leak, but I was confident enough the whole time and forgot all about it. If I could give this product more than 5 stars I would! For me it is a total game changer!!

    I have this cup in my collection and I would say it's okay. Not my fave in my collection. Bought it use on my heavy flow days but it leaks when its only halfway filled. Not sure why. It's too soft and does not pop open easily once inserted. Also once it pops open I have a full bladder feeling which can be a bit uncomfortable at first but then I get used to it.Again , not my favorite cup.

    I was always a diva cup girl, but my local pharmacy didn't have it when it came time to get a new one. I bought a different one, but it did not work at all for me. I decided to check online because although I like the diva cup it is a bit pricey. I came across this one. The price was very decent. Not to mention I like the look of this one better. I'm not too crazy about the clear ones. I was skeptical at first, but this thing exceeded my expectations. It was a comfortable fit and it worked perfectly. I had no leaks whatsoever. I would highly recommend this product.

    I experienced years of vaginal irritation, with no known explanation. So many Dr visits telling me everything looks ‘normal'. Never did they think or mention the possibility that my sanitary products could be the problem. Thanks to Dr Google, I made the change to menstrual cups and my irritation was cleared up by my next cycle and never returned. Pads and tampons are full of chemicals that can cause rash and raw skin. I wish the Dr's could have figured this out sooner. Seems like a ‘no-brainer' to me.

    I am an avid cup/disc user, and have tried many sizes, shapes, brands. I have a flow too heavy to use pads or tampons, so cups and discs are really my only option. I had just come to accept the fact that even with cups, I'd have to deal with leakage on my heavier days and overnight. I struggled to do simple things like go to the gym or sneeze without having a leakage "uh-oh". I was making or refusing plans based on my monthly cycle. NOT ANYMORE! This extra large cup gave me back the freedom to do things that might have kept me away from a restroom for more than an hour or two (swimming, going to a concert, hiking, heck even SLEEPING)...AND not only that, but despite its intimidatingly large size, it turned out to be far more comfortable than any of the smaller cups I've used previously. In fact, I noticed a drastic improvement in my cramps when using this. If you have a heavier flow, I'm telling you, BUY IT NOW.

    Works amazing & is very comfortable once in position, it took a bit of trial & error to find the best way for me to get it where it needs to be (there are a few techniques). Don't worry if it's not perfect the 1st couple of times because I definitely needed a few times to get used to it & get it in proper position. Now I'd never go back, & it holds more than you'd think. I recommend taking it in & out in the shower until you're used to it, but now that I've been using it for a bit it's easy enough even over the toilet. I definitely recommend it, & don't get discouraged if it's not immediately easy; it's worth it

It's not staying put in your vagina because of suction power nor is it suctioning the fluid out, the fluid is coming out, the cup is just catching it. It's staying put because it is in your vagina - it has literally no where to go. Whatever, Amazon!Either way, I have been using menstrual cups exclusively for 11 years. I struggled with leaking when my cup was getting full for years, i just accepted pads for backup on heavy days as part of wearing a cup. I went on vacation a couple years ago and forgot my cup, so I set out looking at cups on Amazon, looking for a bigger one to see if that fixed the leaking. Ordered Venus with next-day shipping to a nearby Amazon locker. Ahhhmazing.The Venus cup has a slightly larger diameter than most, and this made such a huge difference for me with leaking when the cup is getting full. Don't give up if you are having leaks, just order this bigger cup! Perfection!

    I am beyond happy and wish I would have switched earlier! I normally go through soooooooo many pads or tampons (like they'll only last 45-1hr on days 1 and 2). I took a risk on a travel day… This lasted me a whole 7 hour flight!I did have a small challenge trying to get it out the first time. I was freaking out a bit because I thought it was supposed to come out with the tab. But I relaxed and Googled some advice and realized I should use the pelvic muscles to push it down to the fingertips. Worked immediately and made the rest of my period so easy. I still can't believe I had no leaks the entire trip. No problem overnight, no problem hiking and going to the beach, no worries at all. Literally an experience of freedom.

What I love the most was the instructions very clear and to the point. I love how it says if you’re 1/4 of the way full then change around this amount of time. I’m just concerned about it staying firm. Hopefully it does. Overall 10/10

    Good instructions and decent size. I've never used one before- I have VERY heavy periods and was unsure if these (cups in general) would work for me since I work 10-11th a day. Getting it in the first time was fine, removing it wasn't as bad as I thought though I still do it in the shower. I didn't get it in right the second time but I'm learning the feel of it to know if it's set right. So far so good! It didn't take me long to realize I needed to fix it.I am taller (5'8) and have a higher cervix so it's not uncomfortable for me at all (I got the Large). I was afraid it might be since tampons irritate me to the point I can't wear them. I really don't feel it at all and it's easy to reach to remove it. I have a hard time putting it in only because I have mobility issues from a back injury, but once it's in I'm set for 10-12 hrs.I wear period underwear just in case but I gotta say, it feels so much better not having a pad-especially in the summertime.The price was low enough I was willing to give it a try and I can definitely recommend anyone considering it, try it out, take a weekend to learn it and you'll be glad you did!

It is a lot bigger. It was hard to put in and take out the first couple of times I used it. But it got easier and easier and now I love it! It doesn't leak and is super comfortable! The best cup I've ever used.

    I've been using the Saalt Soft for a few years now. It was my first and only cup and I was very happy with it. But my menstrual cycle has changed over the past few months and now I have 2 extremely heavy days every single cycle. Even when I emptied my Saalt right before bed, I would still find a small leak in the morning. So, I decided I needed to find a cup with a higher capacity for those days.I finally stumbled upon this one and it is exactly what I needed. I went through a whole cycle without any issues and no leaks! Finally. It was a bit difficult for me to use the first time because it's much firmer compared to the Saalt Soft (which makes complete sense), but it's super comfortable when placed correctly. Highly recommend it if you struggle with leaks due to heavy flows.

    Pros: This is the most helpful invention yet!!! I just read the entire instruction manual first and did everything by the book. I did the 7 fold insertion technique and once I pushed it all the way in since my cervix is high up, I simply squeezed the cup with my thumb and index finger until I heard the suction capability pop. And I don't feel a thing. I laid down for 2 hours and guess what, no spills. Peed and not even a single drop of blood came out. When it was time to check the results, I simply pushed like I was giving birth and inserted my fingers and pulled it out by the stem. No spills, inside the cup, with about a third of it filled. I highly recommend!!! It's easy, better then a tampon and with proper care (scentless soap, cup steamer) it's quality should be good up to 10 years. I am so happy to be a woman every day of every month 😁😁😁😁Cons: It's not really a huge bother to me but the instruction manual says that of you squat using your pelvic muscles to push it out that it will just come out. But for me I had to sit on the toilet, insert my fingers and push and pull to get it out. No worries though, the female anatomy is an amazing thing! it also says that you're not supposed to pull on the stem to get it out but instead reach in and use your thumb and index fingers to squeeze the base of the cup while pulling out out. My cervix is so high up that I had to pull the stem and push it out. However I am still 100% satisfied with this product. Best thing I've brought this year

    Low cervix/heavy flow peeps read on!Once you figure out how to insert it properly in a way that suits your body, this thing will change everything. I purchased the large size because I have a very heavy flow, but I also have a very low cervix. It still works perfectly after several periods of trial and error - you can actually insert it UNDER your cervix if it's low, leading to leaks and discomfort. This might be a factor in a lot of negative reviews and I too nearly thought this wasn't for me, but the financial and environmental impacts of making something reusable work kept me trying. Not to mention the siren song of (relatively) mess free periods.I fixed this by inserting the cup, letting it expand, then pulling it halfway out and repositioning. When I do this, I'm 100% leak free and I can't feel the cup at all. I still use this in conjunction with period underwear most of the time just in case, but I kid you not, I can wear white in my heaviest days and not worry. I don't know how I lived without my Venus cup. Once you learn your body this is rock solid. Goodbye spending $$$ every month on super maximum extra heavy pads and tampons, goodbye throwing them all out, goodbye to The Period Sleep Position so you won't leak overnight, and goodbye to needing to wear period approved clothes.TLDR:Buy the cup + figure out your body + optionally buy period underwear = profit, literally, because you're not paying for single use products anymore and you get leak free periods now. 👍

    We were planning on spending the weekend on a friend's boat when my period came. The two heaviest days of my cycle were to be the two days spent on a lake. I knew my current cup wasn't going to fare well (25mL capacity), so after doing much research, I ordered this one. This cup has the largest capacity on Amazon. It saved the weekend for me. Instead of having to empty it every 1-2 hours like I do with my smaller cup, I went 4+ hours with no issues! I only had to go to the dock once each day (otherwise I would've need to go back three times per day).I love the large capacity. It is a little more challenging to insert than my Pixie cup. I've been a cup-user for 3+ years, so it wasn't an issue. I will likely only use this on heavy days as I think it would be challenging to insert on a light day (though, lube could make it easier). It is also a less flexible silicone than what I'm used to, but again, it wasn't an issue. It is larger than my other one, but it doesn't look much bigger even though it can hold 20mL more. It's slightly uncomfortable during insertion, but I can't feel it when it's in. I feel like it is well-worth the price. I'm very thankful for this product!

    I have tried 5 different cups over the years. I have tried and CRIED and tried and CRIED because of that stupid Diva cup!! Because it somehow works SOOO perfectly for everyone else - there MUST be something wrong with my body, right? WRONG! Lol Of course we're all built differently. Diva worked first day but day 2 and 3 - forget it. It leaked. And it leaked. And it would be empty and still leak. It would leak before I even walked out of the bathroom and yes I did the tilt and the pull and the twist which is virtually impossible when cup designers design the grooves to go WITH the fingers (instead of AGAINST the fingers) so that there is absolutely NO GRIP! *sigh* Anyway, this cup here - grooves you can grip so you can twist are there! PLUS! It isn't CONE SHAPED!! So when inserted, there is no space left at the bottom of the cup where blood can be left (with cone-shaped cups you would literally have to ream your vag with cotton swabs to clear what blood has drained during insertion) to later stain your clothes. It feels much more comfortable. Diva says tilt the cup down toward the tailbone. Don't. The edge of the cup would always rest on my cervix and cause cramping. This one goes in comfortable and naturally, fitting all crevices. TOP TO BOTTOM! I was so traumatized by the Diva that with this Venus cup, the first period using it, I was constantly always jumping up to check jumping up to check! Nothing leaked. Not. Once. So this cup is the first cup ever to protect me from day one through the end of my periods without a single problem. I have no Cons for it. Now, I am crying out of happiness!

    I purchased the large. I have been using a menstrual cup for about 8 years now and have loved them compared to tampons/pads etc. I have heavy periods and I am a nurse so I don't have time to take many bathroom breaks through the work day. So capacity was the reason I chose this cup. But upon seeing it in person, I was concerned that this would be uncomfortable or difficult to insert. To my surprise, it was neither uncomfortable or hard to insert. The cup itself is more rigid than other cups I've used so it opens easily after inserion and I don't even feel it. The best part is being able to go to sleep and sleep a solid night without waking up to empty it. Other cups I have used, required me to get up once or twice through the night and empty them because my periods, although brief are extremely heavy. I wish I'd have discovered this cup first because it would have saved me a lot of sleep and a few pairs of scrub pants!! I am so glad I found this cup, it releives so much anxiety because I don't have to worry about leaks/overflow. Also of note, with other cups, I had always used a panty liner and because the seal is so good with this cup, I no longer need to do so. I finally feel free from my heavy periods. Get this cup!!

    Ok so I'm speaking to those who are super heavy like I am. It works better than the disk, it will hold for 12 hours without leaks, it's not messy when removing, it's not uncomfortable, and it protected overnight. I'm new at this so I still wore a pad the whole time but I didn't have any leaks at all. I'm impressed. I'm so heavy I had to use Ultra Super tampons and Overnight Pads and I would have to change very frequently. This cup is great for all those who have a heavy flow!

    Sorry if TMI but I had to review this for any other women thinking about it, and I don't normally leave reviews on anything. If you have a heavy flow or high cervix or both like me, I think you will love this cup!This is my very FIRST menstrual cup ever! I have looked at them for a long time, wondering which one to get. Recently just got off the depo shot and haven't had a real period other than a little spotting for a little over 6 months and now they are back... it was hard keeping up with the super plus tampons and the extra long overnight pads so I don't bleed through my clothes...But now, I don't have to worry about ANY leaking, its super comfortable compared to the big tampons, kinda forget its there. I love this cup! Its such a game changer, no more big bulky pads, no more worrying about any red accidents. It was so easy to insert and place up inside, I got it instantly on the first try after quickly skimming the instructions. I just use the "C" fold or taco fold. I was able to sleep in it and wake up in the morning, dump it, wash it with soap/water, and put it back in. Anyways A+ product thank you for changing my menstrual cycle to an easier less stressful time. No more buying tampons and pads!
